Daily Style – Old and New
Taking my daily outfit shots for this blog has made me realise what a creature of habit I am. Some of you may have noticed that almost all of my daily outfit shots are taken in the same place with a blue wall for the back ground. This is the area right outside my office and every week day at 3.30pm Browny (my work mate) and I trot outside to take my daily outfit shot and then I quickly upload the photo while drinking my afternoon coffee. I ALWAYS forget to take my outfit shots when I am not at work. When Browny isn’t around, taking my daily outfit shot is a real pain in the arse. I have Browny all trained up – she takes a damn good photo and does it quickly and quietly and with out any fuss. If I ask Mama Smaggle (who is rather on the short side) I look stumpy in the photos and the light is always bad because it’s too late in the day. If I ask my darling Mr Smaggle it turns into hours of finding just the right light and angle and despite the fact I end up with a gorgeous photo at the end of it all I have serious guilt about aggravating his photography OCD on a daily basis. It’s not just my outfit shots that suffer when I am away from work. When on holidays I rarely go to the gym, I never drink enough water and I always forget to eat my fruit. Unfortunately I’m back at work tomorrow so the blue wall will be back and so will my healthy routine. Until then, here are two outfits that I have worn in the past week. There were more but I forgot to take photos…
* Jeans from Jag
* Shoes from Big W
* Top thrifted
* Poncho thrifted (I just discovered this from cleaning out my room and I’m delighted!)
* Obi belt thrifted
* Earrings from my friend Tae for Myo Designs
I wore this last Tuesday on a date with my mum. We went to see The Visitor (which was beautiful) and had lunch out. It was quite a splendid day.
This is today’s outfit
Today I slept in for the first time in weeks. I have been a little bit on the naughty side in the past week going to bed in the wee hours so my body needed a serious catch up. Today I did all kinds of things on my to do list – filled my car with petrol, took four jackets to the dry cleaners, went to the chemist and the post office and did a little thrifting. I then had a sushi lunch with Mama Smaggle and I just spent the afternoon reading books in the bath. This evening I plan on making jewellery and working some more DIY posts for Smaggle… stay tuned!
* Dress thrifted
* Obi belt thrifted
* Shoes from Melbourne
* Bangle from Diva
* Black necklace from Diva
* Dinosaur head necklace birthday gift from friends
* Sunglasses from Hot Dollar
Love Lady Smaggle

I LOVE that first one – it is so 80s in a completely cool way. Reminds me of my cool older cousins back in the day. Also bonus points for rocking a poncho that hard.
My own daily outfit photos are always the same – I balance the camera on the top step, set the 10-second timer and pose as fast as I can.
I was just thinking ‘are they new shoes?” (in the second pic) but they’re from Melbourne so I’m thinking they are? Where did you get them?? I want!
Fab obi belt.
Just realized you take most of your photos with your sunnies on. Nice to see your beautiful face full on!
I love the second dress – it’s so pretty!
This post made me smile because I feel similarly about my outfit shots. If the boy takes them, I look great but it’s 10 minutes of turning my head this way & that, or him trying to get me to laugh and I always feel bad bothering him. & I always take them before I head to work or out for errands because otherwise I feel too tired & hassled and wrinkled at the end of the day.
im having trouble figuring out whats going on with your eyes in the first one
Nadist – I really like the poncho! I didn’t think I would but it seems to work somehow.
Ivy – Oh I can’t remember! Maybe Quick Brown Fox the brand is called Lomo or something… I have a terrible memory when it comes to stuff like that!
WendyB – Tis my favourite!
Sal – Ha! Yes I do! I’m a little bit shy… if you can believe it!
Nadine – Thanks! It was quite a find!
Ambika – Totally! I mean I love the boy but I like to get in and out with the whole blog photo thing and every picture he takes is like a work of art!
Julia – Oh I think it’s just a little shadowy… is that what you mean?
I love the lacey dress! And welcome back!
