Getting hot – Daily Style

It’s starting to really heat up here in Canberra so I’m whipping out the sweet summer dresses. Sartorially speaking, I had quite a hard core winter – leather jackets, metal jewellery, boots – so I’m feeling rather oestrogen empowered this week. Long live lace and frills!

* Dress from DFO in Melbourne

* Wrap top thrifted

* Shoes thrifted

* Cameo necklace thrifted

* Scarf from Mr Smaggle

* Onyx ring from Mama Smaggle, Monster ring from Queen in Melbourne and purple stone ring from a market worn, as a stack. I’ve been obsessed with ring stacks ever since reading this story from WendyB. I totally want to start collecting old wedding bands. She also has a pretty fab debate going on over there too. Check it out.

I’m feeling quite tired this afternoon because Browny and I ate pizza for lunch. We are usually totally carbophobic and now we know why… How do people function after eating something so heavy for lunch? I feel like crawling under my desk for a nap and making Browny rub my belly.

This afternoon I’m off to the gym and then I’m heading to the theatre for my show.

Love Lady Smaggle

    Hey, Lady Smaggle, don’t worry about the gift thing! I’d been meaning to rant about that forever and even though your suggestion was different, it just got me motivated to finally do my rant. I also want to rant against people who send me holiday cards with photos of their adult children or themselves, but I’m not sure I have the energy. :-)

    Very inspiring story about Siobhan’s mom, right?

    Long live lace and frills if you are under 40. I look like an old slapper with even the slightest bit of lace.

  3. The Mumma

    I love that wrap top.

    Methinks I need to go through my wardrobe and de-dag-ify it. You’ve inspired me to be more creative.

    I am completely unprepared for summer and the hot snap (?) that NZ has been experiencing has caught me completely unprepared. I love the girly summer look but my outfit today looks more hard core than I had expected LOL :D

    Ooo, love the wrap sweater.

  6. Nadist

    Perfectly put together – awesome shoes.

    You are a vision of summer perfection, Lady Smaggle!

    Hey, how is the show GOING? Oooh, and love the wrap top – so ladylike.

    Oh Lady Smaggle, how I have missed thee! I seemed to stop getting emails a while back (maybe because of our server meltdown – literally) but now I have resubscribed and can enjoy your posts with my morning coffee once again.

    BTW, I just found out that my new house in Melbourne is walking distance from Mecca Cosmetica, American Apparel and a MAC shop. I can feel my income slowly melting away and I haven’t even moved yet!

    i feel super creepy asking this, but were you by any chance at UC last thursday? either it was you or a very convincing twin. i was pretty stoked regardless :]

    WendyB – ha ha no worries! I’m loving the ring stack right now. Although it’s getting kind of hot and my hands are all puffy so it starts hurting towards the end of the day.

    Miss Patrice – Hush your mouth! Lace can look divine on older women. Think Helen Mirren… delicating framing her face in flattering lace collars.

    The Mumma – Sure thing love! Glad to be of inspiration!

    Scribbles – I’m having a serious aversion to black right now. Hence my summer being very cream and girly.

    Ambika – thanks! It was a total bargain.

    Nadist – Again a total bargain! I feel very picnic like in this get-up

    Miss Corrine – Even with my paler than pale legs?

    Sal – SO WELL!!! It’s awesome. I’m really glad I did even though it’s killing me…

    Eyeliah – Can’t wait to get my package! He!

    Emma – Oh jesus. Don’t tell me that. I’ll be spending my rent money when I come to visit you!

    Katie – Ha ha! Highly likely, as work there! Were you near the entrance to building 1? Because Browny and I got totally stared at there last week some time. Was that you? You should have come up and said hello! I would have introduced you to Browny… :-)

Say Something!
