I would rather like to dine with Robert Jordan, my favourite author who died a few years ago. He died without completing his series of books, and though the series is being finished by another author, I would have loved hear it from Jordan himself =D

It sounds all teenage-angsty to confess, but I would definitely want Kurt Cobain. To take a walk through a mind like his would fascinate me. The passion he had for music, more so than attention or words or fame or anything else. It was all about the music. Also, if he did turn out to be boring, I figure it would be relatively easy to get him loaded and take advantage.

Of course it would have to be Evelyn Waugh, my favourite writer, subject of my doctorbate, and the scourge of common man, because to me, he is endlessly fascinating, and he looks like Porky Pig.
I would serve him bananas (of which he apparently, one Christmas, after years of shortages, ate an entire bunch in front of his hungry, bewildered children, without offering them a single one), cigars, and as much wine as he wanted, which I suspect would be a lot, and get yelled at for not being Catholic. Bless.

I'm gonna go with Karen Carpenter. A little daggy, yes, but that woman had the voice of an angel!

Harry Nilsson, the amazingly versatile and average-looking singer-songwriter who kept his day job at a bank even while he hung out with the Beatles at night. I could use his advice,

Mine would have to be Marilyn Monroe. A bit clichè maybe, but I would love to see her in the flesh!

This is a hard one. Elvis definitely comes to mind, and Steve Irwin would be another one. Michael Jackson yes – it still makes me sad that he is now included in the selection. But ultimately, I’m really struggling with who I would pick!

I’m just going to lay my cards down and go with the beautiful Audrey Hepburn! Done!

This is super-nerdy, but I would love to have to say Katherine of Aragon. I'm not sure whether or not she falls into the 'celebrity' category though. She was Henry VIII's first wife, and there are so many parts of her life that are a mystery. I would love the opportunity to ask her about some of the cloudier parts of her history. I also think that she would be a wonderful conversationalist.

My second choice would be Janis Joplin. Her music has influenced me more heavily than any other artist, and I have adored her since I was a teenager. The only reason that I didn't pick her as my first choice is that if I were ever to meet her, I think I would just be consumed with fan-girl giggles, and I would have no idea what to ask her. She would then think that I was a total idiot and would probably try to slap me.

I fear mine is fairly cliched too, but John Lennon. I was named after the song he wrote for his Mother, Julia, and I adore him. I’d serve him a roast with all the trimmings, apparently in his later years Yoko had him on a macrobiotic diet and he used to write to his Aunt Mimi telling her how much he missed her roasts.

Jim Henson. we’d talk about the awesome movies he would have made.

There are so many people to choose from I struggle to narrow it down: Princess Diana, Elsa Maxwell, Barbara Hutton, Jackie O, Greta Garbo (did she really want to be alone?), Audrey Hepburn… But I think it would have to be Marilyn. She is such a romanticized figure I yearn to see what she would have been like in real life.

Queen Elizabeth I. An immensely strong and powerful woman, a striking figure in history, and rumoured to indulge in Sapphic tendencies, why would I not love to meet her?
