I do not. My sister however, does. She is a Flowers by Kenzo girl. Myself, I like to mix it up depending on mood, make up, look, day wear, night wear, sex factor etc.

I don’t have a signature anything…except for a very generic drink….

All my perfumes have major pink grapefruit or other sweet fruity notes. So I guess although I don’t stick to one signature smell I do wear the same KIND of scent. Right now I’m rotating between CK in2u her (STILL, have had this bottle since 2007), Cacharel’s Scarlett and DKNY Be Delicious Fresh Blossom. Also looking at getting D&G L’Imperatrice.

I don’t have a single signature scent. I do,however, have several perfumes that I adore. I think my favorite scent would be CK1 by Calvin Klein, but I also love Happy by Clinique, Tommy Girl and April Violets from Yardly. I can’t get enough of the Body Shop Vanilla Oil. It makes me smell like a cupcake.
For the most part, I don’t really buy perfume. All of my favorites have been gifts from either my Mum or my boyfriend. They seem to choose well. The April Vioets is one that a very close friend used to wear, and every time I get a whiff, it reminds me of her.

I am a perfume FIEND. Used to believe in the signature fragrance thing until I realised how many awesome scents there are out there and limiting myself to just one was selling myself short.

I’m very much into niche stuff but they are frightfully costly. I went to LuckyScent one day and spent $40 on 10 samples – which left me with about 5 of those I wanted to buy. Oh dear. No cash for any of those as yet…so my solution lately has been….

Trawling StrawberryNET for the most obscure and reasonably priced fragrances I can find. This has yielded very pleasing results. With the BaseNotes website as my aide I can guage whether I’d be into the scent or not.

just in the past few months. Both absolute winners. I’ve bought at least 6 fragrances unsniffed off SN before and not been disappointed. Yes some are better than others but I’ve found so many gems….
which reminds me, my bottle of Van Cleef & Arpels Birmane is almost empty and needs a re-stock.

So – with this ramble I hope I’ve convinced you that you can let more than one perfume into your heart I choose what to wear each day on my mood and just how seductive I want to be (heh – some perfumes have quite an effect on the male species).
If you start with low prices and do your research, there’s very little risk involved and the rewards are high.

Oh – and if you want to get serious, Kleins Perfumery in Brunswick St have an excellent selection of niche brands and fantastic customer service. I recommended them to Super Kawaii Mama when she was on a hunt a while ago and they found her something perfect.

… I think of Vanilla body oil from the Body Shop as my signature scent! I’ve been wearing it for the last ten years and still get comments about it – it’s just my ‘daily wear’ thing for at home or if I’m doing nothing more than grocery shopping.

Having said that I’ve got a shelf full of different perfumes for better/special occasions – one of which is Vera Wang’s Bouquet, which my mum picked up for my sister, but as my sister was going backpacking for a year she didn’t want to be dragging it around, so she quietly passed it onto me. I love light and sweet scents for day and something heavier for evenings (Bulgari’s Jasmin Noir, guerlain l’instant).

Secretly it’s my signature scent too! If I didn’t love it I wouldn’t carry a bottle around with me everywhere!

I have three scents. Hillary Duff’s “With Love” is my Mon-Fri scent. Burburry Brit is my next fave. If I go out on the weekend at night I wear Thierry Mugler’s “Alien” which is my favourite. I once had a guy in a suit on Oxford St run after me to ask what perfume I was wearing. I thought it was funny that I told him “Alien” because it doesn’t sound very fragrant or beautiful!

For many years it was Calvin Klein’s Euphoria for me- http://shop.beautespot.com.au/store/calvin-klein-euphoria-eau-de-parfum-spray-100ml-3-4oz.html which had many yummy notes in it such as pomegranate, black orchid, liquid amber and mahogany.

In the name of change I’ve recently come across Fan Di, by Fendi and it does my head in (in a very pleasurable way). The advertising campaign around it was a little off-putting but the fragrance is beautiful. Fan di Fendi is a floral with leather accents; the notes include pear, blackcurrant, mandarin, pink pepper, rose, jasmine, soft leather and patchouli.
I love this for going out, and night-time wear.

I LOVE Kleins! But it scares me… it’s so pretty. I JUST went on Lucky Scent and ordered like ten samples including Van Cleef and Arpels. x

Ck1 was my first ever scent! I loved it but was a little too clean for me. I’m a complicated gal at heart!

I stick to orientals with Jasmine and Vanilla.

Go no! I’m the boring one chugging down my ten year old bottle of body shop vanilla.

I’m a Chanel No. 5 girl at the moment. I have also loved Estee Lauder’s Beautiful in the past. I have a couple of Avon cheapies that I’m rotating at the moment. I don’t really have a long-time signature fragrance. I should go into a DJ’s, like you did, and get some advice for others to try out.

Oh well there you go! Some of the brands on LuckyScent – check if SN has it too.
The ones I’m after but can’t afford are the Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier – Fleur de Comores. So tropical.
the Comme De Garcons Stephen Jones one – Violet meteors – really! Insane that stuff. Very very strange.

Nope, no signature scent… no scent even. I think I always assumed that I would “find” my scent when I “grew up”, much like my assumption that I would one day like olives and miraculously be disciplined enough to send thank-you cards whenever appropriate.But after a long love affair in my teens with CK Obsession for men (much more substantial than the women’s one) and a brief early 20′s patchouli phase, I am now happily fragrance-free, hypo-allergenic and not tested on animals.

Chanel Gardenia. It’s beyond wonderful. Unfortunately you have to go to a Chanel boutique to buy it (and do the ‘I’m an average pleb and don’t belong here’ walk of shame past all the beautiful people and the doorman!) but it’s totally worth

I love having a signature fragrance but mine ran out a while ago and I never got around to replacing it – it was Woman by Hugo Boss.

Wow, all you fancy ladies! I wear body sprays, not colognes, and cheap ones at that. I generally pick up anything that smells fresh, or vanilla (as long as it applies to me and is cheaper than $6). I have a terrible sense of smell, so I personally smell my scent only for a bit after it goes on. I’ve spray it on my pulse points and with body spray don’t have to worry that I’ve over-sprayed, leaving a trail of heavy scent behind me. It might seem like a dorky thing to say, but I just feel more put together when I have scent on, even if it is very light.

I like using a mix I use Aesop I wash and use deodrants kiehls oil – coriander and cucumber and amber …. But I only like using Alexander McQueen perfume g x

I love D&G’s Sicilly, but it’s too expensive for me right now, I can’t afford spending so much money on a perfume.. so I wear some drugstore body spray with a decent smell, I don’t remember the name. But when I happen to be in a beauty store I put it on using the tester (classy, eh??) …

I love the IDEA of perfume, but the reality always smells chemical-y to me. I had high hopes for the vanilla perfumes at Sephora, but found them disappointing in person. Sigh.

Either way, I doubt I’ll ever want a signature scent; I’m not one for signature accessories or garments, either. Fun on other people, but just not me.

Babe, you need Luca Turin. Grab ‘Perfumes: A Guide’, which he wrote with Tania Sanchez. Chandler Burr’s ‘The Emperor of Scent’ is also a good read. And the people on the Perfume of Life forums are just LOVELY. (I used to be a one-bottle person until I got educated. I’ve got about 15-20 now and I love them all!)

I love rose scents, but am only able to wear two: Bulgari’s Rose Essentielle, which I wear pretty much all the time (so this is my signature, I guess!), and if the patchouli in RE gets a little too heavy for me, it’s The Body Shop’s Tea Rose oil.

haha the only perfume I have at the moment is the Body Shop Japanese Musk and feel it is probably time to grow up.. Have been half heartedly searching for a ‘proper’ perfume for last few years but always end up feeling overwhelmed and scuttling out of the department shop empty handed.

Sounds like an Givenchy’s Organza girl- i think you should try the Indecénce version though, its full of spices ( cinnamon mostly) and woods that, i think, suits your personality. But i’m just a braziliam girl with no access whatsoever to the amazing things at luckyscent… Maybe Tocca’s Brigitte? (rose, sugar and spices) or Bond n9 So New York? (vanilla, flowers and coffee)

I spent many years being “that girl” who sprays you with perfume in department stores and My mother was a fragrance consultant so we had TONS of things in the house. We were truly spoiled in that area, it was years before I had to actually purchase perfume. That being said, Coco Chanel has always been and will always be what I wear. However, I have a fond place in my heart for Bath and Body Work’s Japanese Cherry Blossom, no matter how common it is. When I can get my hands on it, Fig Leaf and Cassis by Thymes makes me happy as well.

My signature scent is Nina by Nina Ricci. I found it in the usual way – wandering through a duty-free shop on the Canadian/American border (on our way home from a day trip – I live in upstate New York) for an hour, with a different scent on each wrist, asking people to smell me occasionally. That’s how other people pick their scent, right?

Really, though, I don’t know what David Jones is, but I’d love to have someone suggest new scents for me to try, because the whole process of finding an alternate scent just seems so overwhelming. I’d like something a little more musky, but every time I try finding one on my own I seem to get mostly perfumes that smell like cheap candles.

I have some favourites as Guerlain: Eau de Shalimar, and the fresh ones as Pamplelune, Pivoina, etc.

Also Chanel N°5 the lightest version: Eau de Cologne

but my favourite is kids eau de cologne de Johnson
