9 Hot trends for Autumn/Winter 2011.

Last night I had a blanket on my bed. This thrills me as I am indeed a snow queen and I cope not with humidity, sun, sweat or the seemingly endless cycle of mandatory ‘outdoors’ activities that go along with the awful season that is summer. I also love winter fashion. Layers, jackets, scarves, hats… it’s hard to be a style guru when it’s too hot for anything but a slip dress. Here is what I’m coveting come March when the air gets that crisp chill and you can wear leather boots and keep your cardigan on all day…

1. Cashmere and silk.

2. Cloaks and capes. Worn with high heeled boots and dark straight leg jeans.

3. Round sunglasses. With tousled hair framing flushed pink cheeks.

4. Leather. Trenches, dresses, motorcycle jackets.

5. Glamour prints. Think Versace, bold animal prints, gold with turquoise and lion motifs.

6. Classy sneakers. To wear with black skinny leg jeans, a trench coat and a an oversized knitted cap.

7. Stripes. Boat neck long sleeved t-shirts, fitted maxi dresses and knee high socks. In navy and white.

8. Embellishments instead of jewellery. I’m craving clean arms and ears but I want giant beaded flowers on my shoulders and huge architectural leather belts at my waist.

9. Asymmetry. I love one naked shoulder on a chilly night.
