Why don’t you…?

by Carly Jacobs

oh sonia!

Pop on your warmest coat and fuzzy gloves?

Fill a basket full of chocolate eggs? Deliver them to your loved ones?

Grab a picnic blanket?

Lie in the sun reading novels and eating hot cross buns?

Organise an easter egg hunt?

Hide tiny treats around your house for your family to find?

Eat chocolate for breakfast?

Because you can?

Paint your nails a candy colour?

Lolly pink? Minty green? So they look divine as you unwrap your eggs?

Host a delectable afternoon tea?

With scones? Lamingtons? Little raspberry tarts?

Wear some gorgeous bunny ears?

While cooking up an easter feast?

Slightly Saucy Smaggle Giveaway…

by Carly Jacobs

Remember a little while back when I reviewed a Lelo Nea from Savvi? Well the lovely ladies from Lelo themselves found my post and offered to send me their newest product, the Mia Black to try out. I’m utterly delighted with my Nea and feel it would be greedy to have two beautiful Lelos so I’ve decided that I’m giving the Mia Black to one of my readers! Saucy.

Here’s how to enter

1. Comment on this post.

2. Like me on Facebook and comment on my wall (a simple ‘lelo’ will suffice)

3. Follow me on Twitter and tweet me (again a simple ‘lelo’ will be fine)

Each step will get you one entry into the draw. If you already follow me on Twitter and like me on Facebook then simply comment. Easy peasy. So if you do all three, you’ll get three entries into the draw.

I will throw all the entries into a hat and draw out the winner at random.

What you’ll win

A brand new Mia Black from Lelo. It’s a sleek, subtle, USB rechargable masterpiece. Rumour has it that the Mia boasts more speed and power than any of their other products. Is anyone else shivering? Get cracking, you have one week to enter!

Honestly? It’s so worth it.

Question – Are you a spender? Or a saver?

by Carly Jacobs

Christian Louboutin, luxorium

Theoretically speaking if you got attacked by a disgruntled albatross and were rendered bed ridden for the next six months, do you have enough money saved to survive? This is assuming that you’ve used all your sick leave for hangover recovery. You also aren’t eligible for any compensation because some kid saw you poke the albatross with a stick. Could you do it? Really? A saver could.

Please don’t assume that my tone is vitriolic with reference to those people who are spenders. In all honesty I’m jealous of them. Look, I’m a woman. I have wanted to drop a couple of hundred dollars on a handbag several times but unfortunately my anus wouldn’t let me. We have clenching issues when it comes to spending money unnecessarily. Spenders don’t have this problem. They shout everyone drinks on Saturday night then seem completely calm when they can’t pay their car rego. It’s mental.

I think we all know that I’m a saver. A big one. I like to have enough money sitting there in case I need to make a hasty exit and flee the country, bail Mr Smaggle out of jail or pay to have myself cloned. You know. Emergencies. It’s my sad fate that I will never be able to buy Louboutins without first conferring with my chocolate starfish. Sigh.

What about you? Do you spend? Or save?

Oh and if you like the way I speak about my own netheregions with complete abandon do follow me on Twitter or like me on Facebook. It gets pretty dirty at times.

Daily outfit – Denim linen and baby blue mohair

by Carly Jacobs

After the overwhelming response yesterday it seems you all love the non-glam outfit posts so I’ll try to do them as often as possible. Today was similar to yesterday, lots of walking, running around and shopping. I always wear something that I can get dirty on those days!

* Dress from Material Pleasures - the best second hand store in Canberra.
* Tights from Big W
* Cardigan from Supre
* Waist tie from a Metalicus dress
* Boots from Frye
* Scarf was a gift

I also wore my leather jacket because it’s freezing!

Oh and please tell your friends to like me on Facebook or follow me on Twitter! I love you long time!

Do you ever confront people? Or do you suffer in silence?

by Carly Jacobs

Scream

I have what Mamma Smaggle would call a ‘strong personality’. It’s a nice way of saying I’m a bitch. How I managed to get this reputation is completely beyond me but it’s probably justifiable because she’s not the only person who thinks this. I often have friends saying they don’t stick up for themselves like I do for myself. Which I have to say is absolute bollocks. I never really stick up for myself.

If you give me a couple of glasses of red and start talking crap about something that I believe in passionately in like legalising gay marriage or child protection laws then yes you are completely screwed. I’m very quick, very cutting and I never argue unless I’m right. Let that be a lesson to you all.

If someone attacks me personally though I’m very unlikely to retaliate. I’m a bit of a bunny rabbit like that. People either love me, or loathe me. Which is fine because I’d rather have someone hate me than feel indifference towards me, but unfortunately those that do loathe me are pretty hideous and take my ‘strong personality’ as an excuse to take me down.

When an attack is personal, I suffer in silence. It’s a form of self-preservation. I can’t explain it except to say that I can only argue with people who have a valid point. Bullies never do. In fact I’m far more likely to defend a personal attack on a friend than myself.

What do you do? If you are personally confronted do you attack back? Or retreat?

P.S I also LOVE being sickly sweet to people who don’t like me. It’s delicious.

Daily style – Black on black.

by Carly Jacobs

I always struggle with whether or not I should post my every day outfits. I usually only post photos of dinner, date, weekend outfits. Today involved lots of running around, driving and lifting. As most of you know I’m not a pants gal so even on physical days I generally wear dresses and skirts.

* Dress from eBay years ago
* Tights from Myer
* Cardigan (not shown) from All Saints
* Leather jacket from Miss Selfridge
* Scarf gift from friends
* Boots from Frye

It was freezing so I wore my jacket all day.

Please do let me know if you are keen on seeing more every day ensembles. I won’t bore you with them otherwise!

Oh and you must like me on Facebook and follow me on Twitter. We are having an hilarious conversation about drunken shopping on Facebook!

* Have a piping hot shower and snuggle into bed? Nude?

* Eat simple food? Grainy bread? With pumpkin soup?

* Get a head massage? On your lunch break?

* Buy a thick night cream and slather it on your face and neck before bed?

* Sing? While walking home wearing your headphones?

* Buy a gorgeous new lip gloss? A deep grape? A peachy pink? Cherry?

* Drink strawberry milk?

* Have herbal tea today instead of your latte?

* Stand up straight?

* Share your shower with your lover? No kinky business just charming conversation?

* Stock up on tights for winter? Ballet pink? Cream cable knit? Grey merino?

* Suck on a boiled sweet right until the very end? Resist the temptation to crunch?

* Grab a handful of sea salt and some almond oil and give yourself a good scrub?

* Buy beautiful bath towels?

Have a beautiful day!
