Win a Revlon Makeover and a Night Out on Your Town!
Carly Jacobs

I’ve never really been much of a makeup girl but that’s simply because it’s all so confusing and seemingly redundant. Whenever I talk to beauty professionals through blogging and networking I’m always like, say what? Primer, foundation, concealer, powder and then highlighter and my skin still just looks like skin? Seriously?

So when the lovely people at Revlon contacted me and offered me a makeover and a night at the theatre in Melbourne, I was only too happy to accept. I needed some guidance, even if it meant battling Highpoint mall on a Saturday afternoon. The lovely Tabitha at the Revlon counter gave me a makeover using their new DNA Advantage Cream Makeup range. It’s like skin care and makeup in one, which is supposed to be very impressive. I’m a real slap-on-a-handful-of-supermarket-tinted-moisturiser kind of gal so the coverage of a true foundation was a shock to the system. It felt great on my skin though and despite my earlier jab at primer, let me just say, that stuff is the business.

Here I am before the makeover, fresh from the gym without a stitch of makeup on and a lovely sunglasses indent in my nose. Classy.

The foundation didn’t feel heavy at all, which is always my greatest deterrent in wearing foundation on a daily basis. The look is a little too ‘done’ for every day but I loved it for my special evening out. The best bit though was watching someone do my makeup professionally and picking up all their tricks and tips. I highly recommend it. And guess what? The Revlon ladies are offering my readers a chance to win their own Revlon night out, including a makeover and dinner for two OR a night at the theatre/ballet. Flipping sweet.

All you have to do to enter is tell me in the comments ‘What are the main benefits of the New Revlon Age Defying with DNA Advantage Cream Makeup and why are you excited?‘ I’ll give you a little clue… it has anti-ageing bits in it! How cool is that? You can read more about it here, so you can get really creative with your answers.

Here are the terms and conditions.

  • Competition closes at 26th August at 6pm.
  • Revlon chooses the winner. Not me. But if it was me, I’d pick you. You know I would.

I am 36 weeks pregnant and my face is covered in brown spots and marks common to pregnancy (a condition called melasma), so I’m excited that there is a new product on the market to help my skin look lush while also hiding the flaws!

I have never bothered much with makeup.  With three kids, two dogs, seven chickens and a full time job I barely make it through the skin care routine.  I have to admit a make up that includes anti aging skincare REALLY appeals to me!!    Perhaps my husband will remember who I am is I look younger and fresher.

OK Revlon, help me find the younger me that is locked up inside this dull, dry skin!

I just read the other comments and was very impressed by the poem, if I were that creative I would try to rustle one up too! I’ve never been pregnant and am not a mum and honestly I think that if I were I would probably be elbowing people out of the way for a product like this, because I have seen just how much women go through during pregnancy and motherhood! So, even though I can’t REALLY compete with the mum’s (they’re amazing), I’ve started a new business and I swear it has made me look years older from the sheer stress! Retail. Winter. Financial crisis. You get my drift. Couple this with recently quitting smoking and I resemble a screaming banshee most days. And by the sounds of this product, I NEED ONE. I need the bags to disappear, the fine lines to smooth and the sallow, grey complexion to radiate with this lovely liquid. Sometimes looking and therefore feeling good about oneself makes such a difference.

Nothing brings a smile to a woman’s face like easy, light and affordable makeup, and New Revlon Age Defying with DNA Advantage Cream Makeup ticks all the boxes. But it doesn’t stop there, it goes one step further to make that one wish of yours come true, it helps to fight those annoying, niggling little signs of aging in your skin. Feel like a Queen by letting those worries drift away, bring out your smile and light up your life!

There is absolutely nothing as gratifying than feeling youthful – no matter how wise you are! An anti-aging foundation and a night on the town? What’s not to be excited about?!
Revlon, I hope you pick me and we can turn my hopeful excitement into an evening to remember, full of feeling gorgeous and youthful. X x x

After 6 weeks of combining full-on work commitments with early rising, evening rehearsals (for TWO plays), late-night performances, and barely being able to fit in a stroll around the block by way of exercise, I’m starting to look older than my years. What’s worse, people are starting to tell me so.
Them: Oh, Dr Na, you’re looking so EXHAUSTED!
      Me: Thanks. A. Lot.
So anything to help deflect the comments would be great – especially a few tips and tricks from a specialist and a little of Revlon’s anti-aging miracle ingredients. A night out at the theatre with one of the many girlfriends I have been neglecting lately would just be icing on the cake!
