Be your best self.

Why Don’t You…?

Why Don’t You…?
Carly Jacobs

Have old fashioned baked beans on toast? With a cup of tea?

Find a hammock and have an afternoon nap in it?

Slip into your boyfriend’s/dad’s/brother’s giant shoes? Clomp outside to get the mail? Just like when you were a kid?

Wear something peach coloured this week? A loose knit scarf? A jaunty little cap? Lipstick, perhaps?

Buy pastries from a sweet little bakery? Take a box to work? Just because?

Cleanse your body with citrus? A tiny glass of orange juice for breakfast? A squeeze of lemon in your tea? Grapefruit?

Pick up something grainy and sprinkle it through your fingers? Sand? Beads? Lentils?

Grab two chocolate chip cookies and press them around a scoop of delicious vanilla ice cream? Make a naughty little dessert sandwich?

Smile whenever you answer the phone today? Know that your caller will feel your warmth from far away?

Dive face first into a pile of freshly washed clothes?

I reckon that putting a smile on, puts so much warmth in your voice

Last week I was home visiting my folks. Needed to grab something from the car and it was raining so I stuck my feet, while still wearing my slippers, into my brothers work boots and clomped outside in the rain. Felt AWESOME!

My Dad is a plumber and always had giant work boots out the front. Love it.

Smiling when you answer the phone makes such a difference to how people speak to you. They can feel the warmth! x

I have a friend who I know does this and it’s like a sunshiney punch in the face every time she answers the phone.

I love this post. I would also like to add that I have walked outside to get the mail in my hubby’s shoes. I usually grab whatever shoes are at the from door. Great tips.
    Thank you Vicki
