Sold on a Sample – Lancome Rouge in Love
by Carly JacobsI’m a total lipstick fiend and since discovering OCC Lip Tar I haven’t really looked at any other types of lip colour. I really only care about two things. Whether or not the lipstick is going to dry my lips out and whether or not it’s going to last. I’ll admit that I find OCC a touch on the dry side so I’m always on the look out for a more moisturising lip colour.
I’ve been wearing this Lancome Rouge in Love lipstick almost daily because it’s the perfect bright red for a working day. It’s almost sheer but not quite and has major staying power. The above photo was taken three hours after application including lunch and at least three cups of tea. It also survived a bottle of red last Saturday night and when I got home I had to actually use a make up wipe to remove it. Very impressive.
What struck me the most about this collection was that they have three different styles of lip colour for different times of the day. Morning, evening and night. The shade I’m wearing is 163M, a ‘morning’ shade called Dans Sens Bras (which I’m pretty sure is French for ‘dance without your bra‘). I often struggle to wear bright lipstick during the day because I feel like a hooker but there’s something about the lightness of the Lancome’s morning shades that make bright red completely appropriate for first thing in the morning.
Have you discovered any amazing new lip products recently? Especially ones with amazing staying power?
Disclaimer – This product was given to me at a product launch and I was under no obligation to blog about it. In fact the lipstick has been in my drawer for at least two months. I bought a different colour lipstick in this range on the weekend because the staying power is awesome.
