As a ‘fashion’ blogger (I’m using inverted commas in that way that means ‘not really’) I regularly get invited to fashion shows, launches and the opening of fashion related cardboard boxes. However, every year when David Jones has their Spring/Summer 2012 launch it always passes me by until I read about it in Vogue. I’m starting to wonder who you have to sleep with to get an invite. If you’re in the same boat as me (ie: NOT Mirander Kerr or a Home And Away cast member) then we’re in luck because for the first time ever David Jones is live streaming the Spring/Summer 2012 event at 7pm on 14th August. Just pull up a chair to your laptop, crack open a bottle of champers and pretend you’re a front row Fash Pack princess for the evening.

David Jones have pleased me greatly this year by having Samantha Harris as an ambassador for Spring/Summer 2012 alongside veteran David Jones-er Miranda Kerr, menswear ambassador Jason Dundas and Australia’s Next Top Model winner Montana Cox. I just want to be BFFs with Sam and go surfing with her and stroke her hair, you know? Major girl crush. The launch includes the usual suspects like Collette Dinnigan, Alex Perry, Oroton and Mimco as well as a few of my personal favourites like Bassike and Trelise Cooper. Rumour has it we’ll be seeing lots of French themed fashion this year – think Yacht Glamour. Navy and white basics paired with jade, ochre, turquoise and red. Tribal is also huge this season with earthy prints and natural fabrics. Keep your eyes peeled for the Zimmerman swim wear collection too, it’s always spectacular. You’ll be delighted to hear that the 70s are making a comeback with Bianca Jagger inspired style with halter necks, maxis and bold gold accessories. My favourite collections from the DJs launch every year is usually in menswear. Ksubi and Boss Orange. Pay attention people. That’s where it’s at. They also feature Akira, Easton Pearson, Romance was Born, Dion Lee and Willow. I’m warming up my credit card as we speak.
