What’s Your Favourite Snack Chocolate Flavour?

What’s Your Favourite Snack Chocolate Flavour?

Let me ask you this…

Does anyone you know have the same favourite Snack chocolate flavour as you? Cadbury swung some choccy at me last week to give away to you and I was thinking about how weird people are about their favourite Snack flavours. My favourite flavour is caramel and I rarely have to fight anyone for it, which really surprises me. Personally I think caramel is quite the crowd pleaser but not in my family. If you’re reading this you’re probably quite familiar with the Smaggles. In case I haven’t mentioned it before Daddy  Smaggle and my cousin Alice are Snack Chocolate ADDICTS!

At least once a year they have a blind Snack Chocolate challenge where they have to draw and identify the different flavours and individual patterns of Snack Chocolate. They’ll be huddled around a table with a pen and paper going ‘No! CARAMEL has the art deco drips pattern and TURKISH DELIGHT has the deep grooves!’. We are not very good at sharing which is why the Snack Chocolate game occurs, because nobody wants to waste their share of chocolate on a flavour they don’t like… *cough*…coconut ice…*cough*. Thankfully Daddy and Alice Smaggle like different flavours so it rarely comes to blows. He’s a Turkish Delight man and she worships at the alter of the Pineapple. They’re both deranged. It’s clearly all about the caramel.

Honestly though, on a solo mission, I’m not so enamored of chocolate in general. I won’t ever buy it for myself. For me chocolate is a communal experience. It’s shared with my bestie on a couch in our ugg boots, it’s fed to me in bed by my lover or it’s fought over on the coffee table at my parents house, as I try to wrangle a piece from the greedy mitts of my father and brother. I adore the conversation starter that is Snack Chocolate but it’s not a terribly inclusive treat. It turns people against each other. Which is why I’m more likely to head down the path of a chocolate block with a dedicated flavour. Like the Mousse range. Double Chocolate. Chocolate. Raspberry. Hazelnut. If chocolate is even in the same family as praline I’m all over it. Hello hazelnut, you nutty devil.

If you’re fond of the odd cocoa treat you’ll be interested to know that Cadbury is offering four of my readers the chance to win a block of Mousse Chocolate (T&Cs here)! All you have to do is answer the question below…

What is your favourite Snack chocolate flavour? Or do you prefer a more focused flavour like something in the Mousse range?

P.S. Extra bonus points – is coconut ice anyones favourite flavour? I’m dying to know! Do share below.

P.P.S I thought some of you might be interested to know that Cadbury is only allowed to give away one block of chocolate per person for health reasons. I think it’s fantastic that the limit is there in the first place and also that Cadbury sticks to it. Smaggle always promotes sensible consumption of treat foods.

P.P.P.S I received a block of Cadbury Dark Mousse Chocolate to review and it was pretty bloody good but I’ve heard rumours that the Raspberry Mousse is pretty amazing too.

Cadbury’s caramel-filled chocolate is the best ever. Also conjures memories of my years at varsity where my roommate and I would share a slab and dip pieces into our coffee until they warmed to the point of gooey perfection…

      that actually sounds amazing…

Caramel is actually me least favourite snack flavour. I like all of the them that block apart from it, I think I’m with Alice though on the awesomeness of pineapple. It’s been quite a long time since I’ve had any of it though so I might have to go out and buy a block to properly test it out for you 🙂

i can’t understand why nobody likes coconut ice, is it my uber-sweet-tooth? but caramel would be the top flavour, and in my house it works out well because everyone likes different flavours. effed if i know what the patterns are for each one though!
if i had to pick between snack and focused flavours, the peppermint gets me every time, not least because i know i have to share it so i’m not eating a whole block 🙂

I LOVE peppermint! Especially Freddo Frogs!

OMG – pineapple. It is well known throughout the family and friends that pineapple pieces go straight to me!
There is a whole world-o-hurt for anyone who disobeys.

In a nice gesture, I bought 6 Limited Edition Pineapple blocks to give to my friend who was moving away and also has a penchant for the pineapple but I single-handedly made my way through 5 blocks before passing on just the one block to my buddy! I got a case of the guilts and re-purchased some, for them only to be met by the same cruel fate!

To be fair, I do share my love with the other pieces but only once I’ve chowed down the pineapples – I think I may have a problem! You think?
They’ve also done limited edition Pineapple Freddos – almost the same! x

Last year, just outside Harvard Square in Boston, I sampled the most exquisite salted dark-chocolate covered caramels. Yes, salted! It seduced every tastebud, with a wicked blend of buttery sweetness, dusky bitterness, & sour saltiness. Chunky sea salt sprinkled over the tops of the choccies makes for something sublime—who knew?

Whilst I adore chocolate in general, I’m not a big fan of the soft runny centered numbers, with the exception of peppermint, which from memory is not part of the snack family, however I loooove the mousse blocks, hazelnut and chocolate are my favorite, and as an added bonus my husband hates them, so I get the whole thing to myself. I’ve not tried the ones with coulis on top of the mousse yet – but I will certainly give it a whirl when I see them (on special).

If I have to choose from snack it is pineapple for sure, but I think the combination of raspberry and chocolate was created by whatever diety exists out there, it is THAT good.

I’ve never been a giant fan of raspberry. Always annoyed if I thought it was strawberry. 🙂

It really depends on my mood, but I think that Strawberry is probably my favourite Snack flavour. I’m the only person in my family that eats Snack though. Everyone else prefers either Top Deck or Fruit and Nut. That’s a good thing though, because it means I never have to wrestle anyone for the best squares.

Strawberry is probably a close second for me.

I tried a coconut-y cadbury in NZ a couple of years back, and scoffed the lot in one hit. I am not sure if it was a coconut ice, but it was definitely coconut. Yum-o!!

Re: the Snack – my fav would have to be caramel all the way. But then I can quite happily scoff the whole thing and be perfectly satisfied whatever flavour square I happen upon…

I’m in love with Snack Turkish Delight…but I hate normal Turkish Delight candy bars. They’re a totally different consistency and texture! But honestly I love every flavour in snack chocolate, even Coconut Ice. =)

See I like normal Turkish Delight but not snack! Weird!

Is there anyone old enough to remember the original Snack chocolate flavours? ?

Wasn’t there something like a milk and honey flavour or similar way back in the early days? I remember there was one I really liked and it disappeared. 🙁

The irony is that coconut ice is actually my favourite. I love the texture that it had. I’m surprised to see that not many people like it, I was hoping Cadbury’d make a whole coconut ice block (because I don’t like the Turkish delight and pineapple, so they’d be going to waste), as they’ve done one for Turkish delight and pineapple.

Strawberry, pineapple and caramel in that order. I used to always give away the others. I live in Canada now so never get to have Snack chocolate anymore.:(
