Another giveaway lovelies! This time for tennis fans… or just summer fun fans.

I’ve always felt like a bit of a freak here in Australia because I’m not overly into watching sport. Then I moved to Melbourne and realised that ‘watching sport‘ here means knocking back a few coldies and eating hotdogs and then I got a lot more interested.

The awesome crew at the Australian Open are offering four lucky Smaggle readers the chance to win a Double Ground Pass (two tickets) for Australian Open 2013. The pass gives you full access to all of the outdoor courts, the Grand Slam® Oval and the Heineken Live Stage where you can have a drink with your mates, check out a few bands and chill on a deck chair or bean bag. Tickets also include access to Garden Square where you can sit back and watch the action on the big screen.

Picture this: You and your bestie, champagne in hand at the Heineken Live Stage. Swooping wide brimmed hats, sweet summer frocks, rock star sunglasses. The buzzing atmosphere of thousands of tennis fans. A sneaky celebrity sighting. Ice cold beer. Arms sticky and sweet with slathering of sunscreen. It’s the summer equivalent of the Spring Racing carnival. The perfect social outing for a perfect Melbourne summer.

If you’re keen to win one of four Double Ground Passes just simply answer this question below…

What’s your perfect summer beverage? An icy cold beer? A crisp pinot? A cosmo?

Visit here for competition T&Cs and good luck!

P.S If you see me there say hi! I’ll be the one with the hat, sunglasses, long sleeved shirt, sun umbrella, zinc and sunscreen.

P.P.S Because the Australian Open is such a big part Melbourne’s Summer they’re celebrating by handing out free ice-cream in the city! Watch out for the Australian Open ice-cream truck this week at Queensbridge Square, the State Library and Fed Square for your serve of Summer. I didn’t think there was anything better than ice cream but I think free ice cream wins.

P.P.P.S This prize in only redeemable in Melbourne. Just FYI.

It may be more suited to the manicure lawns at Wimbledon, but Pimms. It combines everything that makes a refreshing (but alcoholic) drink – cucumber, mint, ice, PIMM’s and lemonade. Refreshing and cool <3

Mine would be Appletiser, it’s light, sweet and bubbly. Reminds me of those sunny summer days in the sun near the green grass of Melbourne Park. Yum!

Mine has to be a white wine spritzer! It’s bubbly, it makes your bottle of wine go twice as far and with the soda water it’s totally like you’re rehydrating in between drinks. Maybe.

I’m with Helen – my absolute perfect summer bevvy is a refreshing Pimms cocktail, complete with summer fruits like oranges and berries. Delicious! Or alternatively, a cool, crisp cider, like Flying Brick from the Bellarine 🙂

To answer the question i will have to reveal the secret to a summer favourite. The infamous ‘Ol’ Bluey’. A drink we accidently invented by mixing the last dregs of alcohol together after a party. It is a refreshing mix of vanilla vodka, blue curacao, fresh lime and lemonade. Both refreshing and life changing!

My favorite new refreshing drink is now dubbed the scrumptious smaggle after your inspiring last post and tag line Get into it! I normally don’t experiment so much but this brought me so much joy and the colour is so bright and cheery! It’s rose wine mixed with sparkling wine and a dash of soda water.
    Viva la smaggle summer!
Ps hubby says Heineken all the way!
