Secret Ingredients

Bring Out The Colour in Your Eyes

Blue isn’t my most favourite colour but as a blue-eyed lass I like to wear little hints of blues and greys as it really brings out the colour in my eyes. Like this scarf with its little touches of smokey blue. If your eyes are brown or hazel, try to work a little of those colours into your ensemble. If your eyes are blue, go for blue. If you have green eyes… just wear green all the time and balance it with grey. And dye your hair red. Just do it for me please.

If You’re Wearing A Solid Black Dress Wear Textured or Patterned Tights

When it’s super cold I love nothing more than to wear head to toe opaque black but when it’s the beginning of Autumn, I like to keep my outfit a little lighter with textured, sheer or patterned tights.

Trench Coats Create Shape

I’ve always lived in cold climates and sometimes I feel like my body disappears under layers of wool for 6 months of every year. Wool trench coats are perfect for winter because you can wear warm layers underneath and the belt gives you a bit of shape which is often hidden under bulkier winter coats.

I had a massive weekend – Sydney travel, meetings, visitors, rehearsals – so I had a rather slow morning. I went for a run on our new treadmill while watching The Wedding Planner (made me so happy!) and then had porridge while watching the rain from my balcony. I’m just settling down for a cosy afternoon of writing, client work, tea drinking and listening to The Last Five Years, my latest obsession. If you’re a Rent lover, get this album immediately. It’s conversational and quippy with awesome songs you can really belt out in the shower.

How was your weekend? What are you listening to at the moment? Oh and what are you wearing today?

Rimsky Korsakov’s Russian Easter Overture. Courtesy of eBay – Verge jeans, black Baxter lace-ups, with an orange Bonds sloppy joe. And blue finger nails ????

forgot – green shirt. While I was at work, swap out the sloppy joe for a blue cardigan. (I have some standards!)
