I’ve recently become hideously addicted to Pretty Little Liars. And by hideous, I mean sitting bolt up right in bed at 2am, with blood shot eyes desperately clutching my iPad. I’m not going to lie to you, it’s not the most cerebral television series I’ve ever watched but it’s strangely enthralling. In order to justify the hours I’ve spent watching this show in the past month I’ve decided to create a little Style Stealer Series based around the four main characters. Here’s Part Three – Spencer Hastings.

Clothing
Spencer’s look is pure preppy princess. Think skinny belts, collared shirts, over the knee socks and lots of monochrome. Coats and jackets are tailored and usually belted – try a modern trench or fitted blazer. Give knee length skirts a go for the perfect demure Spencer look. Jeans are classic in shape and usually in dark denims or black, worn with Spencer’s staple ballet flats. The occasional floaty top or blouse is thrown in there but always worn with tailored pants and in mature prints like a Ralph Lauren-esque repeating horse motif.
Accessories
Keep it simple and classy. Stud earrings, a simple diamond pendant on a delicate chain or a classic watch with a black leather strap. Thin headbands and classy ponytails are also essential to the college girl Spencer vibe.
Make Up
Spencer’s make-up is super natural and clean with a perfect base. Start with Bare Minerals Prime Time Oil Control Primer to give yourself a clean canvas to build on. Then thoroughly blend some Becca Mineral Tint over your entire face. Next, dab a little Guinot Fast Mattifying Concealer under your eyes and around your nose to clear up any imperfections. Touch up any shiny spots (hello T-zone!) with a light dusting of Becca Fine Loose Mineral Powder. Then simply add a light sweep of neutral eyeshadow (try Napolean Perdis Colour Disc in Skinny Dip), a swipe of nude lippy (ASAP Mineral Lipcolour One is a great Spencer basic) and several coats of Glominerals Mascara. Don’t forget to carry an eyebrow groomer in your handbag at all times (Jane Iredale does a gorgeous one) because Spencer would never be seen with ruffled brows.
