STYLE STEALER: How To Dress Like Hanna Marin From Pretty Little Liars.

I’ve recently become hideously addicted to Pretty Little Liars. And by hideous, I mean sitting bolt up right in bed at 2am, with blood shot eyes desperately clutching my iPad. I’m not going to lie to you, it’s not the most cerebral television series I’ve ever watched but it’s strangely enthralling. In order to justify the hours I’ve spent watching this show in the past month I’ve decided to create a little Style Stealer Series based around the four main characters. Here’s Part Four – Hanna Marin.

Runaway Dress from The Iconic ($220 AU) * Speed of Sound Jacket from Charlie Brown ($249 AU) * Tie Bangle from Charlie Brown ($24 AU) * Great Heights Bracelet from Molten Store ($59 AU) * Future Echos Bracelet from Molten Store ($49 AU) * The Mist Earrings from Molten Store ($59 AU) * Crystal Daze Clutch from The Iconic ($79 AU) * Amelia Yellow Heels from Style Tread ($149 AU)

Hanna is without a doubt the clothes horse of the group. If she lived in New York she’d be labelled as a Park Avenue Princess. Think glam, think designer, think expensive. Hanna loves to show off her legs, so make sure your skirt is thigh grazing if you wear one. Otherwise designer skinny leg jeans are the flavour of the day, worn with a sleek blazer or bolero. Hanna also loves a flowy top, cardigan or drapy shirt so if you want to add volume to your outfit, do it on the top half of your body. A key componant to Hanna’s look is her massive shoe collection. Buy the most outrageous and expensive shoes you can afford and then casually wear them to the post office… Hanna style.

Fiona Orange Heels from Babi Bello ($260 AU) * Luck Black Beaded Heels from Style Tread ($109 AU) * Spur Raputre Wedges from The Iconic * Mila Green Heels from Babi Bello ($270 AU) * Tony Bianco Peach Studded Heels from The Iconic ($75 AU)

Chunky gold chains, charm bracelets, enamel bangles and designer costume jewels are the way to go, just make sure they’re on trend. Try a leather cuff with a huge metal clasp, a bold bracelet with glittering gem stones or several bejewelled cocktail rings. Handbags should make a statement. Either a tiny sparkly clutch or giant designer It bag.

Think perfection, but funky perfection. Start with a beautiful clean base with Benefit That Gal Brightening Face Primer ($44 AU) followed by the beautifully blended coverage of Glo Minerals Perfecting Powder ($51 AU). Don’t forget to use a creamy concealer to cover any blemishes – try Becca Radiant Skin Concealer ($36 AU) – for that gorgeous bright and bubbly Hanna complexion. Have a bit of fun with eye colour and try a sparkly eyeliner or a swipe of funky turquoise with Clarins Waterprood Eyeliner ($32 AU). Perhaps try some jewel toned eyeshadow like this Napolean Perdis Pink Eye Dust ($29 AU) and follow it up with lashings of Bare Minerals Voumising Mascara ($23 AU) . Nails are usually left nude so try OPI Nail Polish in Samoan Sand ($16 AU) with perfectly manicured cutilces. It’s all in the details with Hanna so make sure you spend hours a day on your hair whether you’re straighening it or curling it – try this super cute Babylis Pro Ceramic Conical Hair Curler ($76 AU) for perfectly groomed Hanna curls. The pampered Hanna is truly a lady of luxury so be sure to spray yourself liberally every morning with a Hanna-eqse scent like Paco Rabanne Lady Millions ($64 AU) and always, always have a scented candle burning.

Why Don’t You…?

Wear high heels every single day?

Pay particular attention to your hair?

Have a parrifin manicure treatment?

Wear a chunky charm bracelet?

Try glitter eyeliner?

Who would you most like to see in the Style Stealer series?

Carly is the founding editor of Smaggle which launched in 2007 back when blogging was weird. She has appeared in The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, Cosmopolitan and Cleo magazines. Hoop earrings are totally her thing and she almost got run over by Myf Warhurst while out jogging one day.
