How To Totally Organise Your Life in 19 Days

Good morning Smagglets! Welcome to January. Creepy right? The theme this month is Organisation. I’m going to spend the next 19 days of January helping you sort out your life and become one of those super annoying people who always know where the scissors are.

How To Totally Organise Your Life in 19 Days

Sticking with my no bullshit approach from 20 Days of Health and Fitness, January will be the same. Practical, no-nonsense advice that is actionable for the average person. I promise not to pummel you with Pinterest propaganda or throw Martha Stewart housekeeping crap at you. I’m just going to provide you with practical skills and techniques to keep your life in order.

The question is… what do you need help with? Make-up storage? Wardrobe management? Kitchen organisation? Filing? Shoes? Sports equipment? Books? The contents of your handbag?

What parts of your life do you struggle to keep in order? Let me know in the comments and I’ll do my best to help you out!

Tell me… what is your biggest life organisation problem that needs solving?

Amen Victoria / I jus went through my winter clothes and along with my nail polish and lipstick, there is just STUFF everywhere. I move in 9 days so it was kind of like the pre-move cull. Ugh.

I went mental in the few days after Christmas. I seriously just threw everything away.

This is perfect! I think I kinda have the wardrobe reasonably under control – new storage, and I spent a few days after Xmas organising.
But my chronic problem is bills and paperwork. Drowning in it. I just cannot get my shit together and implement some kind of system.
But really, I’m happy to read about any kind of organisation!

Also this. I constantly seem to have stacks of mail and coupons and various nonsense that stack up in random areas of my apartment. Atrocious.

Paperwork…. What do I keep. How.
Jewellery. Especially costume stuff that I tend to dump in big bowls and gets tangled/forgotten
And what. The actual. Eff do I do with soo many random tupperware bowls/lids/containers! ?
    Basically all the things. Thanks

I feel like there’s a method to my madness when it comes to my “organisation”. So I can’t contribute, but I’m definitely looking forward to seeing what’s to come. Might pick something up – that wasn’t meant to be an organisation pun, it just came out that way.

Ha! Accidental puns are the BEST.

So happy with this theme for January. I was already planning on making this a “spring cleaning” month because we have been in our place for 5 years and it is starting to look slightly trashed!

My organisational challenges are: home office (how to keep it functional and still homey), jewellery (always seems to be in a tangle), makeup, kitchen cupboards.

And, my husband’s shoes – which seem to permanently live on our bedroom floor!

I’ve already organised my own life so I thought I’d start with everyone else’s! 🙂

Disgustingly well organised here. We even spent some of the Christmas break making shelves for the Best Beloved’s study, so all his crap is off the floor, the workstation surface is clear and you can sit down in the armchair. I know, miracles will never cease (actually, they come to an abrupt halt at the garage and run screaming in the other direction. Yep, the garage is also his domain). Also got rid of his intray, so he has to file immediately, not let it turn into an antipodean Tower of Pisa.

I do struggle with my sewing/knitting stash, but that’s a matter of pulling it all out of the wardrobe in the guest room and starting anew. I’m very much of the school of “if it’s hidden, I’m lost”, so expect it will be a case of rehoming the chest of drawers and getting some clear plastic boxes and labelling/sorting.

We’re all under control in the Smaggle haus… we did a MAJOR clean out over the holidays.

Too much stuff crammed into a too small apartment! Plus a packrat husband who won’t throw anything away and is an artist and has a billion paintbrushes, etc., and gets upset if I even THINK about throwing any artwork away.

How to store earrings. I have tons of them. And no, I will not hang them, it has to be something that fits in a drawer.

This one is for the crafty/arty people, for all the people who see the potential in everything we find as a cool idea for an artistic project. Any advice on keeping that under control? I am currently trying to sort/cull all my art/craft supplies. Any advice on this topic?
