Autumn Wishlist 2014

Autumn Wishlist 2014
Carly Jacobs

I simply adore the cooler weather. I’m not built for heat. My wellness guru Morgan says this is because I’m ‘very pitta‘ in the terms of the Ayurveda practice, which means that I’m already full of fire so leaving me out in the open in summer is like death by Tabasco sauce. This is apparently why I get so stabby on 30 degree days. Here I was thinking that I only liked winter for the soup and cardigans.

* Dress from Religion clothing in Bali * Tights from that giant pile of tights in my drawer * Sunglasses from Randolph * Earrings from Dinosaur Designs * Boots from Frye *

I generally avoid photographing my hands as they’re a dead giveaway of my Middle Earth lineage but I had a few people ask about the rings I wear every day so here they are from left to right. ‘Transformation’ mandala ring from Fifth Element, turquoise and silver cabochon ring from Thailand, ship ring from Metal Couture and a few stacked rings from a market in India.

I’m currently on the hunt for a few Autumn/Winter staples.

Autumn Wishlist

* Magic brown boots that look and feel identical to my favourite ones that died last year

* Thick yet super comfortable one billion denier tights

* Grey wool arm socks

* A cream ballet wrap cardigan

* Comfy black closed toe heels for fancy winter events

What’s on your Autumn wish list?

I’m after a pair of flattish black ankle boots with a cowboy-ish vibe. I keep being distracted by 3 inch heels and grey suede.

I’m also after something that’s not a cardigan or sweatshirt but isn’t as structured as a blazer/jacket. I have no idea what this is!

I don’t do heat either, which makes living in QLD just a little bit tricky! I’m hanging out the for 30 degree days to end so I can get the jeans and blazers out of my wardrobe. Loving your Religion dress!

Thank you! I’m totally sold on Religion. It’s my new forever favourite! I could never live in QLD, it’s just not my bag.

I’m on the lookout for a pair of perfect black skinny jeans. Preferably high waisted with a bit of stretch and trim ankles. I am so hanging out for a bit of cold weather, it’s been hot as balls for MONTHS.

It really has been, I’m so over it. My scarves are sad that I’ve been ignoring them.

On the autumn wish list for me is the perfect leather jacket. I want one that is drapey but fitted, the right length, the right colour, not biker style but not a blazer. I don’t know if it exists…

So beautiful Carly! <3 (Where I'm from, Middle Earth lineage is nothing to be ashamed of. Obviously I'm from Middle Earth . . .)

Ha! Spoken like a true New Zealander. With my button noes and stumpy fingers I’m at least 30% Hobbit. x

I can vouch for these: http://www.flox.com.au/, they help keep my legs toasty. PLUS you can actually mend them (needed after a particularly vigorous greeting from a sharp-nailed puppy)

I’m so in love with the mandala ring! Think that may be on my Autumn wishlist now!

I love mine! I got a ‘transformation’ ring to keep me motivated to stay healthy, eat well and move my body!

Middle Earth lineage hands!! I love that, and I can totally relate. I have 2 sisters who have long elegant fingers and I have fat sausages. I find it so difficult to buy “fashion” rings, and when I can find them I think they look ridiculous but you can pull it off – so I shall persevere!

I want more tops like this: http://www.portmans.com.au/shop/en/portmans/tops-portmans/tops-knitwear/stud-detail-knit?colour=Grey

I bought it a week or so ago and it’s SUPER comfy but totally office appropriate – winning! Plus I got heaps of compliments the day I wore it, so that’s not bad either 🙂

I am after a leather jacket.
Cropped (sitting at or just below my wIst).
    No collar.
    Zip up.
Nothing fancy on it – no studs etc…
