Winter is Coming

Winter is Coming

Winter is my favourite season. I love soup, cardigans, blankets, hot cups of tea and a free pass to not be as vigilant about my bikini line. Here’s what I’ve been doing so far in the lead up to winter. It’s been a rather delightful week really.

* Making roasts

* Doing face masks

* Drinking red wine

* Exercising in the morning to warm myself up

* Drinking lots of white and chai tea

* Lathering my face in Rosehip oil at night

* Wearing Mr Smaggle’s hoodies… and letting him wear mine

* Deep conditioning my hair

* Snuggling into bed nice and early every night

* Cardigan from Religion Clothing in Singapore * Dress from Religion Clothing in Bali * Tights from Witchery * Cardigan from Zhai in Singapore * Boots from Frye * Sunglasses from Randolph * Earrings from Dinosaur Designs *

What have you been up to this week? Joyfully pulling out your winter coats? Or crying as you fold away your floaty summer dresses for the season?

    I love winter! There’s nothing better than snuggly clothes and warm food. Although I am a bit of a salad fan. This week I have been at home on endless cups of tea and bedrest as I’m recovering from a nasty bout of laryngitis and have been unable to speak since Monday! Luckily I know a comedian who can’t speak so he sorted me with an iPad app that will speak for me.

      Oh love that sounds awful! One of my mates has been taken down with a weird ‘itis’ thing too. Change of season perhaps? And I totally hear you. I go mental for salad by the end of winter… especially living in Melbourne!

        I don’t know what the cause was, but it’s been nasty!

    I also love winter…fireplaces and their smells, red wine, woollen knits, opaque tights with ankle boots and dark mint lindt. Until August and then I HATE it and crave summer dresses, bare skin and salads 🙂

      I’ll admit winter was pretty brutal last year. I can remember relief teaching and being on the play ground and being so cold I wanted to cry… and it was November!

  3. Winter is perfect for getting into my jammies around 4pm and snuggling on the couch with the kids.

      I am SO doing that this afternoon. I’ve been dedicated to my morning exercise routine for specifically that pupose. I knock at precisely 5pm and get snuggly!

    You make winter sound so good! Maybe I should give it a second chance…

      Ha! You should! Although being a Sydney gal you probably won’t ever truly love it the way a Canberra born chick does.

    I love winter too, except for the walking-to-work-in-the-rain part of it. I’ve had this whole week off work though so I have been gleefully cooking soups and curries (you should see my freezer!), drinking endless cups of tea (and some red wine) and pulling out the cozy jumpers to snuggle on the couch with a good book. Loving it.

      How delicious is it? I don’t a short walk in the rain but anything longer than down the road is just annoying!

    This list is perfection and I am planning to copy it to the letter. Thanks gorgeous x

      Oh do! I highly recommend it! x

  7. I’m with you on the cosy fashion (read: soft pants and snuggly cardigans), socks, fires, red wine and comfort food that’s good for the body and soul. Bring on winter, I say!

      I’m actually finding the mornings pretty rough with my exercise routine! Sitting on the hard floor at my barre body class this morning at 6am was pretty brutal, I won’t lie!
