Hey you… I see you lurking there…

Hey you… I see you lurking there…
Carly Jacobs

I was about to publish today’s post but then I realised that this is my 1500th post on Smaggle (!!!) and I usually use these landmark posts to check in with my readers and see how you guys are hanging. So how ARE you hanging? Short, shrivelled and always to the left? Thought so. Today I’d love ever so much for you to de-lurk and tell me a little bit about yourself. If you’d be so kind as to cut and paste this little interview in the comments and introduce yourself, that would be swell.

All About Me

Where are you from? How old are you? What do you do for coin? Do you have kids? Fur babies? Do you prefer coffee or tea? Aniston or Jolie? Red wine or white wine? Sunrise or sunset? Prince Harry or Prince William? High heels or flats? Dawson or Pacey? Paris or Rome? Winter or Summer? I’ve also got a few little packages of beauty treats to send off to anyone who’s answers make me smile. I’ve  got 7 little bags of goodies, so get me feeling all perky and one of them could be yours. If you make me LOL… well… the prizes could get pretty serious. Just putting it out there. I haven’t photographed the beauty treat bundles yet because the dorks at the camera shop are holding my Fuji hostage but here’s a suggestive image in case you’re having trouble imagining the awesomeness of this potential prize. content

Winter or Summer? Summer, I make hella money over Christmas and I love New Years.

I have lots of teetotal readers which is weird because I’m either a non-drinker or a binge drinker. I’ll have no glasses of wine or 5. So I guess that supports my cross section of non-drinking and huge drinking readers! 🙂

Is your fear of travel or planes? Such a shame to waste fluent French! 🙂

Oh it’s Pacey. You choose Pacey.

      • Maudie 10 years ago

I get the shakes getting the train to Sydney for a girl’s weekend so I think it’s travel. I’m saving to go overseas with my mannie and he’s just as scared of everything in the world ever too

  2. Raquel Moss 10 years ago

Oh hi! I’ve commented a couple of times before, but not regularly 🙂

    Where are you from?
    Wellington, New Zealand

    How old are you?
    23

What do you do for coin?
    Self-employed front-end web developer and part-time punk-ass book jockey.

    Do you have kids?
    Not yet

    Fur babies?
Does constantly harassing the neighbour’s cat count?

Do you prefer coffee or tea?
Both! Coffee in the morning with whipped cream, and earl grey straight up at noon.

    Aniston or Jolie?
Why does the media continue to pit (or Pitt, as it were) these two against each other? It’s unnecessary. That said, I’ve always liked Jolie and don’t really have an opinion on Aniston.

    Red wine or white wine?
White. A New Zealand sauvignon blanc, preferably.

    Sunrise or sunset?
Sunrise. With coffee, and a productive day ahead of me.

    Prince Harry or Prince William?
Prince William. As an only child, how could I not go for the similarly sensible and reliable elder sibling?

    High heels or flats?
Anything but wedges when I’m riding my bike!

    Dawson or Pacey?
(You’ll hate me for this) I was too young to watch Dawson’s Creek when it came out so I have NO idea how to answer this.

    Paris or Rome?
Paris. And Rome. And Stockholm, Riga, Dubrovnik, Barcelona….

    Winter or Summer?

Winter! Though you can’t beat Wellington on a good summer day.

    • Author
      Smaggle 10 years ago

What’s a book jockey? Am I a bit old to know about those? And do you have whipped cream on your coffee EVERY DAY? I’m so fascinated by your weird and awesome answers.

You know, I’m not a huge fan of white wine but I LOVE an NZ sav blanc.

The answer is Pacey. Always Pacey. Dawson has a jelly bean head.

      • Raquel Moss 10 years ago

Haha. A book jockey is a librarian. You know about those 🙂

And yes, whipped cream in the coffee every single day.

Well hello there Smaggle! Nice to finally chat after so much lurking!
Where are you from? Adelaide, SA

    How old are you? 26

What do you do for coin? In print media

Do you have kids? Not yet

Fur babies? An imaginary golden lab named Mango, whose best friend is a chocolate lab named Milo. Our yard isn’t big enough and we’re at work too much for him to be real just yet. One day…

Do you prefer coffee or tea? Soy mocha

    Aniston or Jolie? Aniston

Red wine or white wine? White

Sunrise or sunset? Sunrise. With vodka please.

Prince Harry or Prince William? Harry. Gotta love a cheeky ranga.

High heels or flats? Heels – I’m short.

Dawson or Pacey? Pacey. Always Pacey. And he ended up with Diane Kruger. Winning.

    Paris or Rome? Paris

Winter or Summer? Summer. Give me the ease of a summer dress over complicated layering in winter any day.

    • Author
      Smaggle 10 years ago

Thank you very much for de-lurking! I totally agree on the Harry. Mr Smags is part ranga so I’ll always have a soft spot for the gingers.

If Pacey was going to end up with anyone, I’m glad it’s Diane Kruger. She’s is so awesome.

      • Michele @ The Hills are Alive 10 years ago

part ranga? dare I ask which part?

Uh and Mango and Milo must happen. Make it so.

    All About Me

    Where are you from?
    Sunshine Coast Aust

    How old are you?
    43
What do you do for coin?
Psych (but not practicing at the moment)

    Do you have kids?
    2 (see above)

    Fur babies?
Brown BC and a Tonkinese, had 3 chooks until Brown BC came along

Do you prefer coffee or tea?
Love both – different times. Coffee to get started in morning and “real” coffee when out, but love a good tea – Irish Breakfast preferable leaf in a pot and a granny cup. Bit of Yorkshire Gold goes down well and some Licorice tea is fine too. Used to love cream in my coffee but Gallbladder says No!

    Aniston or Jolie?
Neither – I’d say Isabella Rosalini or Julia Roberts (in August Osage County)

    Red wine or white wine?
Bit like coffee – it so depends. Love a really good red in winter with a nice steak, but a buttery almondy white in summer with some Thai hmmmmmmmm

    Sunrise or sunset?
Both – but something special about being up early before the world wakes up

    Prince Harry or Prince William?
    Team Harry all the way

    High heels or flats?
    Boots, saltwaters,

    Dawson or Pacey?
Really? No….. but I dont mind a bit of Paul Rudd…nothing to do with those two I know but yup

    Paris or Rome?
    Prague maybe.

    Winter or Summer?
Autumn then Spring then Winter then Summer – not a fan of humidity/heat.Sucks the life out of me. But love me a cool night, crisp morning and then clear blue sky days of Autumn. Definitely my time of year

    • Author
      Smaggle 10 years ago

GOOD call on Isabella Rosalini. Love her.

I do feel I was being unfair with the coffee/tea question. I’ll often have both and back to back. What are saltwaters please?

      • Michele @ The Hills are Alive 10 years ago

        http://www.saltwatersandals.com.au/gallery/
        In Navy
And Tan like 2/14 in the gallery (except my legs are not so smooth and sleek and tanned…model obviously in these images not me but thats Salties…the most comfortable shoe…and they dont get ruined when they get wet)

  5. Happy 1500th Blog Post, ladycakes! You know a little bit about me, but here’s some more for your reading pleasure…

    Where are you from?
    Rads (AKA Adelaide, South Australia).

    How old are you?
    Nudging 30.

What do you do for coin?
Everything for everyone. Ooh, that made me sound a bit streetworkerish didn’t it? I’m in admin so I RUN THIS SHOW, DAMMIT!

    Do you have kids?
    Eww! I mean, no.

    Fur babies?
Hellz yeah! Amalfi The World’s Most Beautiful Dog.

Do you prefer coffee or tea?
Coffee first thing in the morning prepared by a hunky barista (AKA Mr Styling) and then tea for the rest of the day. Until it’s time for wine.

    Aniston or Jolie?

    David Beckham.

    Red wine or white wine?
I don’t discriminate. I’m an equal opportunity wine drinker.

    Sunrise or sunset?
Sunset. My favourite one I’ve seen was sitting at the Piazzale Michelangelo next to Mr Styling on our honeymoon, sipping wine and listening to an acoustic guitarist while the sun set over the city of Florence.

    Prince Harry or Prince William?
    Prince George!

    High heels or flats?
    Wedges. Best of both worlds!

    Dawson or Pacey?
    Dr Patrick from Offspring.

    Paris or Rome?
Paris. It stole my heart, the bitch.

    Winter or Summer?
Bring on Winter, I say – layers, red wine, open fires, cuddles on the couch, not having to shave our legs…

    • Author
      Smaggle 10 years ago

That’s my point exactly. Admin people run the shop, so ALWAYS be nice to them. Oh you’re a wedge gal? Contraversial much.

How long ago did you get married? It was recent yeah?

      • Don’t get me wrong, I love a stiletto but can’t do skyscraper heels with my bad back and all. Plus I’m an unco and trip over my own feet. Not. Pretty.
We got married last year (1 March), so a tick over a year now. In December we will have been together 10 years!

    All About Me

Where are you from? The bright and brassy GC

    How old are you? 27

What do you do for coin? I work for a civil engineering company… very serious business 😉

Do you have kids? sure do, a little 9 month old and we just found out yesterday that we have another on the way! EEEEKKK!

Fur babies? oh no, I have enough trouble looking after the real life babies

Do you prefer coffee or tea? tea, one sugar, half water half milk (I’m a sensitive little flower who cannot handle hot drinks, it has to be tepid at most before I can drink it!)

Aniston or Jolie? Oooh toughie, I think team aniston if only because of friends

Red wine or white wine? white and sweet baby!

    Sunrise or sunset? sunset

Prince Harry or Prince William? my ‘sensible mum’ head says william but my heart says harry

High heels or flats? flats, which is a bummer considering I’m 5ft1!

Dawson or Pacey? Ooohhh PACEY! Such a spunk!

Paris or Rome? I haven’t been to either but I think I would like Paris best

Winter or Summer? Winter! my motto is you can always but more clothes on if you’re cold, but in summer once you’re nakie you’re screwed!

    • Author
      Smaggle 10 years ago

Whenever someone tells me they have a job like working for a civil engineering company, I have so much trouble imagining how your spend your day at work. I’m seeing you strutting around with a hard hat and yelling at people with rolled up building plans under your arm. Or swiviling around in a big arm chair and stroking a fluffy cat. That’s not right is it?

Pacey is really the only sensible choice.

      • petal 10 years ago

oh god, I wish it was either of those options! I work in a very boring office in front of a computer all day completing tender documents for projects we want to win. The competitive side of me loves it, but some days it is so boring that I can’t tear myself away from ebay!

  7. Alisa Muir 10 years ago

    Happy happy 1500th.

    All About Me

Where are you from? Invercargill, New Zealand

How old are you? 21 with 11 years experience.

What do you do for coin? Currently a combination of raising three kids, keeping house and tertiary study.

Do you have kids? Yes three. Best teachers in the world.

Fur babies? Our kitty cat ran away when we moved last year *sad* we currently just have a bird named Steve (so not really fur baby… and the then 5 year old named him, its a long story).

Do you prefer coffee or tea? I go through phases of both. Love me coffee.. but sometimes a pot of tea is just the best *YES FROM A TEA POT* Has to be loose leaf tea, I am a tea snob.

Aniston or Jolie? Aniston… but then I really admire Jolie also… But there is something about Aniston that draws me in.

Red wine or white wine? Usually white.. but recently discovered a red I can actually stomach.. so maybe my taste is maturing.. lol

Sunrise or sunset? Sun set. There is something really calming at the end of a day watching the sun set. Time to reflect and dream. I would probably love a sun rise but I am never awake then.

Prince Harry or Prince William? Harry I like the cheeky smile.. plus how much pressure must Old William be under aye… no thankies..

High heels or flats? Flats. As a teen I was really self conscious about my height and hated towering above my friends so rarely wore heels. Now as an adult I love my height but just can’t get the hang of heels. I every so often dream of rocking some mega heels.. but it won’t happen.

Dawson or Pacey? Pacey. Dawson is weird looking… lol

Paris or Rome? Both… I have been to neither but both interest me.

Winter or Summer? Spring and Autumn…. I like the in between seasons.

    • Author
      Smaggle 10 years ago

Oh no your poor kitty! That’s really sad. A feather baby just isn’t the same. Get into red wine my friend, it’s amazing! I’m tall too but I just didn’t give a fuck and wore heels anyway! I used to wear them every day in Canberra but now I live in Melbourne and walk every where. So sad.

And yes Dawson IS weird looking. Have you seen him in Don’t Trust the B in Apartment 23? He’s actually awesome in it.

  8. Liz @ I Spy Plum Pie 10 years ago

I don’t really lurk, but I’ll answer anyway!

    Where are you from?
NZ originally but Melbourne now – round the corner from you as luck would have it!

    How old are you?
    27

What do you do for coin?
I write Sustainability & Land Use Policy, which is particularly hilarious in the current political climate

    Do you have kids?
    Not that I know of

    Fur babies?
I wiiiiish. But I shall dog-sit your new puppy so that’s a start

Do you prefer coffee or tea?
Soy flat-white to start the day, then I switch to tea. Lots of peppermint tea
    is happening at the moment

    Aniston or Jolie?
Neither? Kerri Washington in Scandal instead please

    Red wine or white wine?
    I prefer not to discriminate

    Sunrise or sunset?
Sunrise during the week, such a calm time of the day. Sunset if I’m on holidays
(preferably on a beach with a cocktail in hand)

    Prince Harry or Prince William?
Prince George? I used to have a soft spot for the Queen Mum actually (or Ol’
Queenie as we used to call her)

    High heels or flats?
Flats most of the time as I walk evvvverywhere

    Dawson or Pacey?
Scott from 5ive was my favourite in that era (remember him and his ridiculously
    gel-spiked hair?)

    Paris or Rome?
Paris, definitely Paris (helps that I speak French!)

    Winter or Summer?
I prefer the in between seasons actually. Although when I was in Grade 1 I wrote an acrostic poem of the seasons that won 1st prize at the Whittlesea Show, so maybe I shouldn’t be so quick to judge

    • Author
      Smaggle 10 years ago

Yes, you are the opposite of a lurker, I love it. It’s getting to the point that if you go away for holidays I’ll be worried that you died because you aren’t commenting on the blog. 🙂

I used to be a HARDCORE heels gals but I just can’t in Melbourne because I walk EVERYWHERE. Makes me sad. You speak French? That’s CRAZY cool.

You know I started watching Scandal and I don’t think I like it. I’m gutted. So many people recommend it to me particularly because of the ‘fashion’. There’s no fashion. It’s all plain grey suits. I’ve watched 2 episodes. Should I perservere?

      • Liz @ I Spy Plum Pie 10 years ago

That’s me, the crazy commenter! Although, I’m still having to open Internet Explorer to comment, but only for your site, not others using disqus. Weird.
My French isn’t as good as it used to be (I did it in VCE and went on exchange when I was 16 for 3 months) but every time I go back it returns to the point of being able to converse, even if my grammar might be shoddy!
YES perserve! It’s an addictive show and Olivia has some amazing clothes – coats, dresses, the lot.

    All About Me

    Where are you from?
    Reppin’ Melbourne, always baby.

    How old are you?
23 years young but feel like a nanna most of the time.

What do you do for coin?

Retail for now, teaching for later

    Do you have kids?
    Not yet 😉

    Fur babies?
My beautiful little cavalier Charlie who is 8 months old – he is snoozing on the couch next to me with his paw on the keyboard as I type!

Do you prefer coffee or tea?
Coffee, the pep up it gives me has been the highlight of many a crappy day.

    Aniston or Jolie?
Aniston – quite like staring at her in movies and she just seems like a nicer person I suppose? Media portrayal alters that, I know, but I’d still rather her than Jolie and her loud-looking family!

    Red wine or white wine?
    A bourbon please!

    Sunrise or sunset?
Sunrise, more opportunity awaits and sunset can bring me guilt if I haven’t marked much off of my to-do list.

    Prince Harry or Prince William?
Harry! Both men seem like top blokes though, but I’d definitely snog Harry.

    High heels or flats?
Flats – the lady at the bridal store was aghast when I told her I was wearing flats to my wedding!

    Dawson or Pacey?
I’ve never watched Dawson’s Creek and the video store near me (yes I am old school) doesn’t have any seasons!

    Paris or Rome?
Paris, in fact just last night I dreamt of my honeymoon there next year. It’s been too long between visits!

    Winter or Summer?
Scarves, hot coffee, boots – winter is boss, but keep the rain to yourself Melbourne!
Loving your blog sick Smags – and you too, of course! Mwah!

    • Author
      Smaggle 10 years ago

Oh! Photo of the puppy? We’re thinking about getting one! When’s the wedding? It must be pretty soon? Will you be doing your own make up? I always assume beauty gals do their own make up because they don’t trust professionals!

    All about me:
Where are you from? Tasmania [insert lame, heard it before inbred joke here]
How old are you? 16, going on 60 because I have dicky knees and don’t do wild parties
What do you do for coin? By day I’m a college student and by night I work at a pizza store. Fun fact: I was in the Australia National Pizza Making Championships haha
Do you have kids? Obviously, nope.
Fur babies? Nope, I’m not really the type for pets.
Coffee or tea? Coffee every morning and green tea with lemon before bed
Aniston or Jolie? Um, neither. Team Jennifer Lawrence!
Red or white wine? Given my age the stereotypical answer would be either goon or cruisers but I don’t drink. Just adding to the nanna-ness!
Sunrise or sunset? Sunrise, but only because I don’t see it as often. I’m certainly not a morning person 😉
Prince Harry or William? Harry, because ginger is better than balding. No offense!
Heels or flats? When I get the opportunity, heels.
Dawson or pacey? No idea who these are unfortunately!
Paris or Rome? Rome. This october. SO EXCITED!
Winter or summer? I’m a winter girl. I love cold mornings, snuggly coats, and soup for lunch.

    • Author
      Smaggle 10 years ago

Are you seriously still 16? I feel like you were 16 the last time I asked my readers questions. You’re making me feel all old! I didn’t drink until I was about 20 and then it ALL changed.

Also you need to watch Dawson’s Creek and then I need you to pick Pacey. That’s an order.

      x

  11. Michelle... 10 years ago

Where are you from? I live in Christchurch, New Zealand but my heart resides in the Waikato

How old are you? I’m about to turn 27 for the 9th time

What do you do for coin? I make mud pies! I spent a bunch of my time making soil anaerobic by adding water (and sometimes some other stuff) to it to see how the bugs behave (otherwise known as a biogeochemist)

    Do you have kids? Nope.

Fur babies? One kitteh, who had dental work done today so is rather stoned on pain meds – it’s hilarious, and one ancient horse (who I love to bits – that’s him in my profile pic)

Do you prefer coffee or tea? 70% coffee, 30% tea

Aniston or Jolie? Team Aniston right here! I was irrationally gutted when I heard Jen and Brad had split.

Red wine or white wine? Until last Friday, white. Since then, red (specifically Pinot Noir). I’m sure I’ll change my mind again next Friday.

Sunrise or sunset? Sunrise. I spent many years riding racehorses in the mornings and have come to love the sunrise, especially on a frosty morning.

Prince Harry or Prince William? Harry. He seems like a bit of fun

High heels or flats? I adore high heels, especially a stiletto, but I can’t wear them anymore >sadtrombone<

Dawson or Pacey? What kind of question is that?!?! There is only one answer (and that would be Pacey)

Paris or Rome? Rome. In July! YFY! (biased cos I speak Italian)

Winter or Summer? Winter. Logfires, winter coats, mum's vege soup, snowboarding, iceskating.

    Congrats on the 1500 Smags!

    • Author
      Smaggle 10 years ago

Oh I love that you said mud pies! Best!

And good girl on trying red wine. I’m a red drinker so I avoid pinot noir (I don’t believe is red wine that you can see through) but it’s a good starting point for a beginner.

      PACEY FOREVER!

  12. juz_P 10 years ago

Where are you from? – Central Vic
How old are you? – 23
What do you do for coin? – I work at a video/record/instrument store, but previously worked at a magazine (which is how I found you, after you emailed asking us to check out your site!)
Do you have kids? – Nooope, I’m possibly the last 23 year old left in my small town with no spawn.
Fur babies? – 2 cats & a dog (side note: it turns out, people with babies don’t like it when you compare their babies with your puppy.. **the more you know**)
Do you prefer coffee or tea? – whatever is closest, I have an extensive collection of both.
Aniston or Jolie? – Team Jen! I know Angelina is worldly and charitable and adopts every child she sees, but I still feel the sting of Brad & Jen’s breakup :'(
Red wine or white wine? – White, every now & then I try to go for the red, but I think I have to come to grips with the fact that I’ll never be sophisticated enough haha
Sunrise or sunset? – Sunset, if they made the sunrise later in the day then *maybe* I’d give it a chance 😛
Prince Harry or Prince William? – Harry, my love for William receded with his hairline..
High heels or flats? – I’m too uncoordinated to pretend to be taller than I am, so flats.
Dawson or Pacey? Confession time: I’ve never watched Dawson’s Creek…
Paris or Rome? – I assume Rome, but as I’ve never actually been there, this is purely based on the fact that I’ve always wanted to go there.
Winter or Summer? – Winter! Layers! Yay!

Whoa! I have literally no recollection of emailing a magazine… was it through Source Bottle? If so then yes I would have done that! Which magazine?

So many non-Dawson’s watchers. For shame. Just pick Pacey. It’s easier for all of us.

    Hello Smags,

I delurked a while back, but I so loved reading about your readers I thought I would join the getting to know you game…plus you told the funniest farting anecdote once on your blog that I still feel I owe you for the laughs.

    Where are you from?
    Sydney.

    How old are you?
    Almost 40. Almost…

What do you do for coin?
I am a SAHM. Sadly we are not unionised and have yet to achieve sick days, holidays, overtime or long service leave. I dare to dream that one day we will. Good thing the work place is so good.

    Do you have kids?
Three. All girls. All craaaazy. All the time. I love it.

    Fur babies?
    Cavoodle. Girl. Also nuts.

Do you prefer coffee or tea?
Always tea first thing in the morning and always coffee mid morning. Why choose?

    Aniston or Jolie?
Honestly neither. Though I did love Angelina a bit harder for weighing in on the Nigerian girls horror.

    Red wine or white wine?
See my response re beverages. Obviously not in relation to time of day but in regards to choice making.

    Sunrise or sunset?
I am a morning girl who loves twilight. Magical, mauve tinged time of the day.

    Prince Harry or Prince William?
That is like asking me if I choose Justin Beiber or One Direction. Im too old for either.

    High heels or flats?
Generally flats but I will always love a patent black wedge or a leopard heel.

    Dawson or Pacey?
How can this even be a question? Pacey. Every. Single. Time.

    Paris or Rome?
Paris. But secretly I wish New York had been an option…

    Winter or Summer?
Can I have Autumn or Spring. So underrated but so lovely. I am not one for extremes of weather in either direction.

Oh yay! I love to get people to de-lurk!

No one has picked Dawson. Does anyone ever pick Dawson? And yes I should have offered New York as an option. That’s what I’d pick!

A bit about me (not that I lurk too much).

    Where are you from? Canberra

How old are you? 48 in a couple of months

What do you do for coin? IT

Do you have kids? One stepson

Fur babies? Only two at the moment. NOT enough.

Do you prefer coffee or tea? Coffee in the morning, tea in the afternoon

    Aniston or Jolie? Angelina Jolie

Red wine or white wine? Either, preference towards white. And unfashionable as it may be, a rosé. Also Maggie Beer’s sparkling cabernet, which has no alcohol.

    Sunrise or sunset? Sunset

Prince Harry or Prince William? Neither. I’ve got my very own long-haired car freak deviant.

    High heels or flats? Flats.

Dawson or Pacey? Never watched the show. Can I have Hugh Laurie or Stephen Fry?

Paris or Rome? Paris. There’s an awesome bookshop called Shakespeare and Company

    Winter or Summer? Winter.
Other facts: dog nut, bibliophile, adores food,.

You definitely don’t lurk I love it!

I didn’t know you were from Canberra! What suburb? Do we know other in real life in Canberra? I’m always curious because it’s such a small place, we’re bound to know someone who knows someone.

You can both Hugh Laurie AND Stephen Fry.

      • Erika 10 years ago

OMG, seriously, I’m the oldest one here thus far and that is so weird! I don’t feel like a grown up. And I definitely remember the days when I was one of the most heavily tattooed women in Canberra….

Latham for the past 14 years, Griffith before that. We haven’t met in real life, but it’s quite possible that the seven degrees of Kevin Bacon are in force. Canberra’s much bigger than it used to be! I get all nostalgic about it, really am not a big city girl.

Love that I get both Stephen and Hugh. Hard to think of two more intelligent, self-deprecating and wildly talented men (okay, there’s Brian May, Robert Carlyle, David Tennant – can I have a harem of them?)

  15. lulu 10 years ago

Hi Smaggle! This isn’t my first post, but I rarely do it so decided to participate.
Where are you from? Rural (East) Victoria. Living in Canberra at the moment but about to move back to my home town. So excited!

    How old are you? 24

What do you do for coin? I work in sales at the moment but finishing up soon due to the move.

    Do you have kids? No

Fur babies? Not yet, I really want to get a dog though! Luckily my mum just got a puppy so I will be able to spoil it instead.

Do you prefer coffee or tea? I don’t really like either, but I drink coffee most days for the caffine.

    Aniston or Jolie? Probably Aniston.

Red wine or white wine? I don’t drink.

    Sunrise or sunset? Both!

Prince Harry or Prince William? Harry.

High heels or flats? I were flats all day at work but when I’m out and about I wear boots with a small heel.

Dawson or Pacey? I have never watched Dawson’s Creek but I’m going to say Pacey. This seems to be your opinion and I am prepared to trust you!

Paris or Rome? Rome I think. I want to travel to both, but I get the feeling I will enjoy Rome more.

Winter or Summer? Winter, but my favourite season is spring.

I’m from Canberra! What suburb are you living in? I was a Kambah gal.

We’re in the process of maybe getting a dog. It’s a bit commitment but I don’t think Mr Smags can survive without a pet much longer. He’s so clucky!

Yes. Pacey is the correct answer. Good girl.

      • lulu 10 years ago

I’m living in Griffith for a few more weeks, but when I first moved to Canberra I lived in Kambah.
I’m very excited to see what breed of dog you two get!

Prince Harry or Prince William? Prince William. Hmm.

High heels or flats? Flats all the way.

Where are you from? Sydney, Australia

    How old are you? 22

What do you do for coin? Public Servant in Federal Government department

Do you have kids? Most definitely no

    Fur babies? Also no

Do you prefer coffee or tea? Either, black – no sugar

    Aniston or Jolie? Aniston

Red wine or white wine? White

    Sunrise or sunset? Sunset

Prince Harry or Prince William? I care so very little

High heels or flats? Flats always, my feet are so small (childrens size) that its far too difficult to find appropriate heels (read – no plastic, with an actual heel).

Dawson or Pacey? Pacey, always Pacey. I loved Pacey from the very beginning and he really had a romantic and friend love for Joey. Dawson just loved the idea of her.

Paris or Rome? Paris. I actually really disliked Rome when I went, I put it down to the fact that it was 45 degrees and I was on a dreadful contiki tour… but I can’t shake it.

    Winter or Summer? Spring please.

    • Author
      Smaggle 10 years ago

I would love to have small feet, those are always the sizes that are left over!

And obviously Pacey. I’m slightly disturbed whenever anyone chooses Dawson.

Contiki tours ruin everything. They’re so gross but such a necessary part of youth.

How do you make money being fabulous??? GIVE ME ALL THE TIPS!!!

I think you coined on the Aniston/Jolie. Jolie’s acting is awesome and Aniston is just a lovely human.

      • Hamizah 10 years ago

yea they do aren’t they 😀

Tips on how to earn money by being fabulous :
-It can be any job really, but a job with your passion is a bonus. (i.e if you love fashion/makeup, work at boutique or makeup counter)
-Make friends, know their name, smile!
-Know what you are doing. (crucial!)
-At the end of the day, focus on the bright side. If you ever had a bad day, bitch it out for a moment (talk about it, play games, etc) and focus on other small things that make you happy.
-Basically it’s just a right attitude (thus on being fabulous) at workplace.
        hope that helps! 😀

    Why Hello there Lovely Smaggle!
    Where are you from? Westside!
How old are you? 33 about to be 34
What do you do for coin? I’m a contract bookeeper one of my clients is a strip club, which sounds exciting, but sometimes I can’t go to the toilet because there are strippers getting spray tans in the bathroom! I also have “normal” clients too, but no one seems to want to know about them 😉
Do you have kids? I have 1 eight year old boy
Fur babies? Sadly he’s passed on, to be remembered as the Most Naughty Cat Ever.
Do you prefer coffee or tea? Coffee in the morning, tea in the afternoon but only herbal.
Aniston or Jolie? Aniston, but only after seeing Horrible Bosses…damn girl!
Red wine or white wine? My boyfriend is educating me about red, I’m enjoying it more than I care to admit, I even drank every glass at the fancy schmancy wine dinner he took me too…
Sunrise or sunset? Sunset, being a West Aus girl, I’m pretty spoiled here with sunsets, wouldn’t trade the lazy evenings watching the room change colour!
Prince Harry or Prince William? Who?
High heels or flats? I’ve just got my first BUNION!!! What the actual fuck! I think my heels days are over, sobbing quietly over my pile of sex kitten shoes
Dawson or Pacey? Pacey, but only for you
Paris or Rome? Paris, I have a secret pastry addiction
    Winter or Summer? Autumn…I’m transitional

Oh please tell me your funniest story from the strip club. I have like 4 article deadlines and I’m prcrastinating!

I actually hated Horrible Bosses. Aniston was good but the whole movie was a bit whack.

    About Nicole…

    Where are you from?
I judge myself when answering this. I am currently from Cambewarra (smal lbut
beautiful part of the world) I previously lived in melbourne for 5 years
and it still feels like home ( was there last week and ate at every newplace i could)

    how old are you?

    i am 35 ( going on 17)

what do you do for coin?
i manage projects in a large company they are varied, and as a result, quite interesting. I struggle with working for anyone who isn’t passionate about what they do, which means I struggle on a daily basis … ( I work from home so can swear a lot without offending any one other than my daughters Upsy Daisy Doll – and she already judges how much i drink so may as well go all in and piss her off entirely)

    do you have kids?
yes i have to a 4 year old and an almost 12 month old. The four year old unfortunately is going to be a little bit too much like her mum .

    Fur Babies?
We said goodbye to our for baby 2 years ago – he was 18. A Beagle x staffy x something. Angus. He broke our hearts so much that we sold house
and moved so that we won’t constantly reminded of him. Mind you, we are now
sitting down at our new house and talking about how much he would love it where we are now.

Do you prefer coffee or tea?
coffee definitely coffee. cannot talk to anyone before coffee. i think i operate in an alternate universe until that first coffee & tea only when there is no milk in the house

    aniston or jolie?
I have switched camps. In my twenties – Aniston. In my thirties – Jolie. i have less pity now than i did then, and like a woman who takes life (and Brad Pitt) by the throat.

red wine or white wine ?
definitely white. A sharp white that brings everything into perspective.
In contradiction I love a good musket or port

    sunrise / sunset?
depends on which side of the coast i am on..

sun rise really on the east coast. Sunset is perfect with above mentioned white on any west coast (Pref is overseas!)

    Prince Harry or Prince William?
prince Harry for a dirty weekend and William for keeps.

    high heels or flats?
high heels in theory. Very much in theory. I have so many heels but my soft ballet flats are a go to item.

    Dawson or Pacey?
Pacey for sure. Dawson i would manipulate and i think he would be a worse person for having known me

    Paris or Rome?
Rome there is just something about it. Maybe the handsome italians?

    Winter or Summer ?
    Summer every time.,

Oh you did well to get 18 years with your fur baby. Bless.

See I’ve always been a Jolie gal which is weird because I’m a Friends fan and I really like Aniston but I’m just on Jolie’s side for some reason.

I love that you chose Pacey because you have distroyed Dawson. Very noble of you.

    All About Me

    Where are you from?
    Brisbane

    How old are you?
    22

What do you do for coin?
I’m the chick who scans your groceries when the line at the self serve checkouts is too long for you to deal with. Do you want your melons in a separate bag? 😉

    Do you have kids?
    Nope.

    Fur babies?
    A sweet kitty called Willow.

Do you prefer coffee or tea?
Tea, but it has to be strong, Like the billy tea or australian style that can you get? I cannot stand piss weak tea!

    Aniston or Jolie?
Ugh, too hard. Both are so lovely… Aniston, because of friends of course. “I’ll be there for youuuuuuuuu!

    Red wine or white wine?
White… And only moscato because I’m a baby.

    Sunrise or sunset?
    Sunrise. Peaceful and magical.

    Prince Harry or Prince William?
Prince Harry, I love cheeky boys.

    High heels or flats?
I love flats, but I cannot go past a pair of sexy high heels. Anything black with ankle straps own my wardrobe.

    Dawson or Pacey?
So I had to google this because I didn’t know which one was which (Do not stress! Completing the series is on my tv show list and I will have a real decision one day haha). I was always a James Van Der Beek lady though… No idea what it is, guess I like squinty guys with giant eyebrows, so sue me!

    Paris or Rome?
Paris… Ballerinas, Eiffel Tower, fancy bread?! I’m sold.

    Winter or Summer?
I would say winter but I live in queensland for crying out loud, so it doesn’t really count. Nothing too hot or too cold 🙂

    • Author
      Smaggle 10 years ago

Oh now I feel bad that I never go to an actual check out. I LOVE self serve but then I really dislike talking to strangers.

Have you seen James Van der Beek in Don’t trust the B in Apartment 23?
He’s AWESOME. He plays himself. Genius.

      • Hannargh 10 years ago

Haha don’t feel bad, I always use self serve checkouts too. I’d rather not have to serve someone who doesn’t want to talk to me, I totally get it.
YES! I love that show, so hilarious.

  23. Sarah Destrehan 10 years ago

Congrats on your landmark posting event. I am working my way up to 1500 slowly but surely. Answers your funny questions below.
Where are you from? New Orleans, LA, US
How old are you? 35 but I feel more like 28
What do you do for coin? I make videos for a living
Do you have kids? Not that I know of. I guess aliens could’ve abducted me and run some experiments while I slept but they’d seriously have to accelerate the growth process for any kids. Probably not.
Fur babies? No, too messy and cats make me go achoo
Do you prefer coffee or tea? Tea because it doesn’t make me hyper like those SNL sketches where Mike Myers is tied up to that jungle gym b/c he’s not allowed sugar.
Aniston or Jolie? I equally ignore both
Red wine or white wine? white one every day
Sunrise or sunset? sunset b/c really who can stay up until 6am to watch the sunrise?
Prince Harry or Prince William? Neither, I guess. We are very distantly related according to my grandmother’s geneaology work so can’t be attracted to either.
High heels or flats? High heels when someone else carries me around on a palanquin and flats when I actually need to walk my own a** somewhere.
Dawson or Pacey? Pacey, every day, every week. An older woman liked Pacey which means he’s sophisticated. Meanwhile, Dawson was just in his room complaining about his wealthy parents and awesome life.
Paris or Rome? Paris cause I’ve never been and would love too
Winter or Summer? Winter because New Orleans summers are brutal. When I walk to my car from my front door in the morning I need a shower. Plus, I always miss layering in the summer.
Hope you get some laughs out of this.

It takes SUCH a long time to get to that many posts but it also seemed to happened so quickly! What type of videos do you make?

I saw if you’re distantly related enough that you’ve never met them and you don’t share any family members then you can totally go for it. Only if you want to though. 🙂

      • Sarah Destrehan 10 years ago

I make videos that promote the company I work for like mini-documentaries and advertising online type stuff. It’s fun.
You’re probably right. We are so distantly related that it wouldn’t make a difference. I always kind of preferred William but I couldn’t break up that adorable family. ;0

Where are you from? Vancouver, Canada (but I started reading while in Melbs)
    How old are you? 28
What do you do for coin? nothing (just finished grad school)
    Do you have kids? Nope
Fur babies? yep. 2 recently acquired kittens
Do you prefer coffee or tea? tea 90% of the time. occasionally a coffee.
Aniston or Jolie? Jolie (but neither really)
Red wine or white wine? white
    Sunrise or sunset? sunset
Prince Harry or Prince William? I used to be a William girl, but Harry is looking pretty damn good these days.
High heels or flats? Flats (I’m tall!)
    Dawson or Pacey? Pacey
Paris or Rome? Paris (never been to Rome)
Winter or Summer? both? if forced to pick I’d say summer.

Oh what’s are your kitten’s names? I’d love a cat but Mr Smags wants a dog so I think that will be next up for us! How long have you been in Canada for?

      • Caz 10 years ago

The kittens are Hayley and Kevin, named after Hayley Wickenheiser (Canadian women’s ice hockey captain) and Kevin Bieksa (a Vancouver Canuck, and Team Canada player). My last cat was Timmy (after Tim Cahill, the Socceroo) so I just sorta continued on the athlete theme… I’m definitely a cat person, and while living in an apartment they’re just way easier but I’d love to have a dog eventually!

I’ve been back in Canada for almost 2 years now. I love, love, LOVE being home, as Vancouver is pretty amazing, but I also miss Melbs on a daily basis. I’ll need to plan a visit back soon.

  25. Melissa Frisbie 10 years ago

Where are you from? Originally Colorado (and still am at heart) but I traded in mountains for beaches and live in Florida now.

    How old are you? 28

What do you do for coin? I’m a Merchandise Presentation Specialist for Walt Disney World (which is a fancy term for making mannequins not naked and window displays pretty)

Do you have kids? Not yet! I’m getting married in October (YAY!) and we’re planning on being selfishly self absorbed with each other for a few more years.

Fur babies? Two! Isabella, the pissy kitty and Frankie, the endearingly idiotic puppy.

Do you prefer coffee or tea? Coffee in the morning, tea in the afternoon.

Aniston or Jolie? Jolie because of my embarrassing love for the terrible Tomb Raider movies.

Red wine or white wine? White. The sweeter the better.

Sunrise or sunset? Sunrise. My job requires a 4am wakeup call. Ugh.

Prince Harry or Prince William? Neither. Charles.

High heels or flats? Flats. I walk like a pregnant penguin in heels

Dawson or Pacey? Dawson. I like a man who can ugly cry.

    Paris or Rome? Rome. Someday.

Winter or Summer? Winter for the outfits and summer for curly hair humidity. On that note, I started following you waaaaay back, maybe like 5 or 6 years ago?( has it been that long?!) because you were my curly hair solidarity blogger. Even though I am a creepy lurker, know that I have lapped up and loved every single post (my favorites are the “Why Don’t You” series). Keep it up, beautiful lady!

Oh cool job! My mate used to manage the Disney store in Canberra and it was AMAZING! Congrats on the wedding, how exciting!

Why on earth do you need to get up at 4am? The mannequins aren’t going anywhere are they?

      • Melissa Frisbie 10 years ago

Disney has this thing about guests not seeing any sort of “behind the scenes” work. They want you to believe that little fairies make the magic while everyone is sleeping. It is actually great though because I love my “to do” lists (fellow Virgo, holla!) and getting as much crap shoved into a day as possible is much easier when your work day ends at 1pm.

  26. Rachel Pierce 10 years ago

I’ve been a non-lurker for a little while now, though I sometimes fall back on my lurking ways. Nevertheless I’ll bite on this game.

Where are you from? That’s a complicated question that I could write essays about. For simplicities sake I’ll just say that I currently live in Los Angeles.

    How old are you? 22

What do you do for coin? I recently got a job as a receptionist at a production and distribution company. It’s my first job out of school and while it’s not exactly wildly exciting, it’s good to be working.

    Do you have kids? Nope.

Fur babies? No, my apartment is too small.

Do you prefer coffee or tea? Tea, always tea. The amount of caffeine in coffee gives me a headache so I stick with a variety of different teas.

    Aniston or Jolie? No opinion.

Red wine or white wine? Depends on the season. Red in the winter, White in the summer.

Sunrise or sunset? Definitely prefer sunrise when I can manage to get up in time to see it. Sunrise always seems hopeful and full of potential. Especially when you see them whilst driving to the airport to go on a trip.

Prince Harry or Prince William? No opinion.

High heels or flats? All flats all the time. The pain isn’t worth it for me. Besides, I’m tall enough already.

Dawson or Pacey? Dawson? I guess?

Paris or Rome? Can I say Berlin? No? Okay, Rome then, but I have to go back and do it properly.

Winter or Summer? Winter. Why I moved to LA is often a mystery to me.

    • Author
      Smaggle 10 years ago

I totally agree about sunrise/sunset. I actually love both but there’s such possibility with sunrise.

Holy shit! You picked Dawson! First Dawson. Interesting…

  27. Emily 10 years ago

    Hi there,

I’ve been reading ever since I read your article on Mamamia about having a partner check other people out. LOVED IT. I though ‘Who is this insanely cool chick?’ and found my way to your blog.

Where are you from? Townsville originally, now living in Canberra (!)

    How old are you? 20

What do you do for coin? I’m a full-time student, so the little coin I have comes from casual work.

Do you have kids? HA. Hahaha. NO.

Fur babies? I fell in love with my step-mum’s fluff-ball of a cat, but he’s moved overseas with them. I’m a bit devastated.

Do you prefer coffee or tea? Tea all the way. Coffee makes me anxious.

Aniston or Jolie? I think both are over-rated as actresses, but Jolie for her activism. And her hair is gorgeous.

Red wine or white wine? Not much of a drinker. Bit of a light-weight.

    Sunrise or sunset? Sunset.

Prince Harry or Prince William? Prince William. So polite.

High heels or flats? Flats. Otherwise I’d fall over.

Dawson or Pacey? Too young to answer! Now I have to go marathon Dawson’s Creek.

Paris or Rome? Rome for the food.

Winter or Summer? Winter! Summer means awkward under-boob sweat. I’d rather have chillblains.

    1500 posts, well done! I don’t think I’ve even made it to 15 🙂

I think I may have de-lurked before, but I’m de-lurking again because this looks like fun.

Where are you from? I was born in Sydney, consider Canberra my home town, lived in Melbourne for a while, now reside on a bush block on the mid north coast (inland near Taree), and work in Sydney during the week. I feel like I’m going around in circles sometimes.

How old are you? Thirty. Eight. And nine months. Or so.

What do you do for coin? I write stuff. I make jewellery as well, but there’s no profit in it (yet).

Do you have kids? Give me a house first (we live in a caravan on the bush block), then we’ll talk. The answer will still be no, but at least I’ll have a house.

Fur babies? We had a beautiful bull terrier called Charlie who left us last September (he was 13 and we got him when he was still a pup). He was the best dog and I miss him every day.

(We do have two goats, but they’re not pets. Not pets. Definitely working animals. They’re not at all adorable and I don’t make a fuss over them at all. Aww, look at them frolicking in the paddock with their little horns and their cute widdle hoovikins and their teeny-weeny tails! Nope, not pets, shut up Shelby)

Do you prefer coffee or tea? Black coffee in the morning, jasmine tea in the afternoon. Other contenders include mocha coffees, peppermint tea, and pretty much anything with ginger. Instant coffee is the devil.

Aniston or Jolie? Um. Can I have Bonham-Carter instead?

Red wine or white wine? A nice full-bodied red for preference. I like to talk as if I know something about wine, but all I do is look for a three-year-old shiraz (with or without cabernet) in my price range.

Sunrise or sunset? Sunrise. I love sunset, but it makes me melancholy.

Prince Harry or Prince William? They’re both much too young for me! I’ll go for William, but only if I can have Kate Middleton’s wardrobe (sized up a bit) and her hair (as is).

High heels or flats? One and a half inches of heel suits me fine – it’s a good compromise between making my legs look amazing and still being able to walk and bicycle around.

Dawson or Pacey? I never watched the show but I am led to believe that “Pacey” is the right answer. Which is good, because Dawson has way too much forehead for my liking.

Paris or Rome? London. But I’d really rather a nice coastal village with a good bakery and a decent op shop, because I am a total dag.

Winter or Summer? Winter! I hate humid summers, which explains why I now live in the sub-tropics (joke). But what I really like is the very beginning of spring: the air is charged with pollen and new growth, the days are getting longer, it’s still cool enough to wear leggings and boots, the Sydney Swans are in the football finals (knock wood), and it’s still close enough to my early-August birthday that I can buy myself a “late birthday present” or two and not feel too bad about it. And did I mention the leggings and boots?

    • Shelby Wright 10 years ago

I should add that my attempts to sound like I know something about wine are frequently derailed by my tendency to sing “shiraz cabernet” to the tune of “Feliz Navidad”. But it’s so much fun!

  30. Ariel 10 years ago

Hey there 🙂 I’ve been lurking for about 2 years, if not more. I have commented once or twice, the most recent being your awesome rocky road recipe!

    Where are you from?
I am from the Blue Mountains, more precisely Winmalee (the place hit by the bush fires last year). I’ve been here coming up to ten years this December. Before that my family used to live around the Concord/Homebush area of Sydney. Mum hates the city and wanted a change.

    How old are you?
    I am 21, 22 in July.

What do you do for coin?
Currently I work in Admin/Reception for a company that services coffee machines for McDonalds and cafes/home machines. But I am studying to become a primary school teacher.

    Do you have kids?
Nope. Plan on doing that a bit later in the future.

    Fur babies?
Not my own 🙁 I live with my sister and brother-in-law and they have two cats. Trying to convince them to get a dog though!

Do you prefer coffee or tea?
I like them both equally, however I can’t pass up a good iced coffee

    Aniston or Jolie?
Aniston. Friends is my most favourite-ist show ever!

    Red wine or white wine?
Can I be a child and say Moscato? Really don’t like either, yet.

    Sunrise or sunset?
I am not an early riser at all! So sunset for me 🙂

    Prince Harry or Prince William?
    William (despite his balding head)

    High heels or flats?
Love a good pair of heels but my god they break my toes! So flats it is

    Dawson or Pacey?
… I never watched Dawson’s Creek 😮 I’ll have to do it at some stage though

    Paris or Rome?
Rome. Give me a good pasta any day!

    Winter or Summer?

As much as I like summer, you get hot and no matter what you do you cant cool down. I love that if you’re cold in winter, just add more layers and hey presto you’re warm. That and fire places are awesome.

So there you go. A low down on me, Ariel (forgot to mention that’s my name. And no my parents did not name me that because of the mermaid. And no I don’t have a tail/fins. So many people ask)

    • Natalie Mulford 10 years ago

Winmalee is sooo pretty! My parents were looking at moving there but ended up settling in Jamisontown (right next to Penrith).

      • Ariel 10 years ago

It really is! I love having breakfast on our deck looking out at the backyard/bush. Oh how funny, I work in Jamisontown. Small world haha.

  31. Magatha May 10 years ago

    Where are you from?
I live in Kilkenny, the smallest city in Ireland (it’s not actually a city but through some religious technicality they get the status. Kilkenny is one of the Stag and Hen party meccas in Ireland too).

    How old are you?
    I am 31.

What do you do for coin?
I get to be a CAD monkey for a hybrid energy company. It’s a start up company and there are just a handful of us working there. I’m with them for 2 years and they are a great bunch. I spent 12 years in college so it’s really good to be out in the working world.

    Do you have kids?
Nope, no kids in my life. But I make an awesome non-biological aunt to my best friends baby boy, and my cousins daughter thinks I’m amazing with a colouring book.

    Fur babies?
My rental apartment doesn’t allow pets and to be honest I would feel really bad leaving them at home every day so for now I call home to my folks as often as I can and just hang out with our family woof. (the last house I rented a room in had 2 pug puppies… totally squee until they pull your clothes off the clothes horse and pee all over them).

Do you prefer coffee or tea?
Both… as an Irish woman tea is my jam. And it has to be proper tea… none of this spiced chai stuff, or herbal lark. Barry’s or Lyons tea… in a big mug… with milk… and a digestive on the side. But I can’t start my day with tea. It doesn’t feel like a work day without a steaming mug of coffee in front of me.

    Aniston or Jolie?
Jolie is prettier… and she wears black better than Aniston does

    Red wine or white wine?
White wine, but can I have a glass of sparkling rose instead please? With a plate of strawberries? And some dark chocolate… let me be a cliche

    Sunrise or sunset?
Sunrise reminds me of my mum. She’s a baker and many many mornings have been spent working as the sun rises. But I still say that a 4am wake up is unnatural.

    Prince Harry or Prince William?
Harry is a total fox… such a cheeky chappie.

    High heels or flats?
Heels Heels Heels…. love love love my heels and am thankful everyday that I have a desk job that allows me to wear them. Last year I ran a Friday Footwear challenge on Instagram and almost managed to do the whole year without repeats.

    Dawson or Pacey?
Jen was the only non-whiney one so I choose her.

    Paris or Rome?
Have never been to Rome but got to spend a magical snowy few days in Paris one January. All the tiny white Christmas lights were still up everywhere and it was just breathtaking. Add in the bakery that was beneath our hotel and I was just sold.

    Winter or Summer?

We don’t really have either with any regularity here. When we get a proper cold winter here the country shuts down, and if we get a proper hot summer the country shuts down. Us Irish are only built for average weather, verging on slightly damper and colder than the rest of the world. I do like a nice sunny, windy day when I get the choice though.

    – I love high heels, but I’d prefer to wear flats.

    Winter or Summer?

Winter! Though I do love Autumn & Spring more.

  35. Keep Warm (Danielle) 10 years ago

Where are you from? Saskatchewan, Canada… the wild prairies

How old are you? umm 32? Sometimes I forget

What do you do for coin? Work for the man…ugh

Do you have kids? No thank you!

Fur babies? Nope. There is no way that I’m walking down four flights of stairs in the dead of winter when it’s -50 to let out a cute puppy to pee!

Do you prefer coffee or tea? Tea. Unless it’s the post workout coffee that keeps me sweating to earn it.

Aniston or Jolie? Bah. Scarlet Johansson. Or Emma Stone. They can fight to play me in the movie of my life.

Red wine or white wine? Yes. All of it.

Sunrise or sunset? I like the possibility of sunrise but rarely get to see it.

Prince Harry or Prince William? Harry. Gingers are cuter than they appear.

High heels or flats? Fab heels everyday!

Dawson or Pacey? Pacey? I only saw a few episodes.

Paris or Rome? Well I saw more people peeing in the street in Paris so I guess I’ll say Rome.

Winter or Summer. Summer. Please always summer where bike rides and patios and walks and laughter reside. Winter makes my eyelashes freeze together.

    • Author
      Smaggle 10 years ago

Oh okay I change my mind, I pick Emma Stone!
I think winter and summer are VERY different in Canada than in Australia. I go skiiing here in Australia and I’ve never had my eyelashes freeze together. I’m sort of half planning a trip to Canada over Christmas so I’ll really be able to experience the crazy winters!

    * Administrative assistant for an amazing nonprofit

    Do you have kids?
    * Trying

    Fur babies?
    * 2 sweet beagles!

Do you prefer coffee or tea?
    * Tea is great, but coffee wins my heart

    Aniston or Jolie?
    * Meh.

    Red wine or white wine?
    * Usually white

    Sunrise or sunset?
    * Sunrise, absolutely.

    Prince Harry or Prince William?
    * Again, meh.

    High heels or flats?
    * I want to like heels, but my feet disagree. I am almost unanimously a flats girl.

    Dawson or Pacey?
    * I’ve actually never seen Dawson’s Creek……….

    Paris or Rome?
    * I have an intention to eat croissants, macarons & fresh baguette in Paris before I die. Rome seems pretty neat too though. I’d do both, naturally.

    Winter or Summer?
    * I see the best in everybody. Winter is for recharging & cozying & evaluating. Summer is for letting go a little & adventuring & putting yourself out there. Winter is my comfort zone & summer is what keeps that from getting dull & redundant.

You can’t a pick a prince? Really? It’s like the ultimate personality test. Standardly handsome sensible prince or cheeky ranga prince?
Oh and good luck with the baby making! May the force be with you. x

      • Mandy 10 years ago

Ha! When you put it like that… I think maybe I just don’t like princes. Give me a lumberjack-type any day!

  37. Jacqui 10 years ago

I am a serial lurker all over the internet, because I am overly paranoid about the permanence of anything posted. But today I thought I’d drop my guard…

    All About Me
    Where are you from? Geelong
    How old are you? 32
What do you do for coin? Research Scientist
Do you have kids? Three step-kids (17, 15 and 14)
Fur babies? A 14yo border collie – she’s falling to pieces (kidney disease, arthritis, heart murmur, and now a lump that is currently being biopsied), but she’s hanging in there.
Do you prefer coffee or tea? Coffee
    Aniston or Jolie? Jolie
Red wine or white wine? White
    Sunrise or sunset? Sunrise
Prince Harry or Prince William? Harry
    High heels or flats? Flats
Dawson or Pacey? Pacey (I’m not sure this is even a question)
    Paris or Rome? Paris…
Winter or Summer? In Winter I’d say Summer and in Summer I’d say Winter.

    • Author
      Smaggle 10 years ago

I find it so interesting when people are paranoid about stuff being permanent on the internet simply because my whole life is on the internet so I’m like ‘whatever!’. I think it’s people with grown up jobs like yours that get worried about it! 🙂
Yeah I don’t know where I was going with the whole Pacey/Dawson question. The answer is just so obvious.

  38. Maegen 10 years ago

Fine, fine. I’ll put down my lurking goggles, since you asked I’m happy to oblige.

    Where are you from?
Western New York (The state not the city, because e.v.e.r.y.o.n.e. seems to think of the city alone. I live closer to the cows and wine, not the nice shiny lights, thank you very much.)

    How old are you?
    25. I think. It’s Friday and my mind is a bit fuzzy. Who is counting anyway?

What do you do for coin?
Recruitment/Human Resources! I work with the craziest, most wonderful group of people.

    Do you have kids?
    No thank you.

    Fur babies?
Yes! We have a 9 month old goldendoodle pup who is the sweetest dog you’ll ever meet (Miss Penny) and 2 dwarf rabbits (my 5 lbs. of fur and fury, Neville and Ellison).

Do you prefer coffee or tea?
    Coffee, black.

    Aniston or Jolie?
    Jolie. Aniston confuses me.

    Red wine or white wine?
Both, just so long as it’s a dry wine.

    Sunrise or sunset?
    Sunset, it’s warmer.

    Prince Harry or Prince William?
    Prince Harry.

    High heels or flats?
Flats if I feel like a sane woman, heels if I don’t.

    Dawson or Pacey?
Neither? I never watched the show. We’re talking not a single episode. I was too busy running around outside and now do not have Netflix to pick up what I, apparently, have missed out on.

    Paris or Rome?
    Rome, please.

    Winter or Summer?
Summer. Winter means heaps of snow and ice and cold. Actually, I prefer fall overall. Is that an option? If so, I’ll take it!

    • Author
      Smaggle 10 years ago

Oh a golden doodle! That’s the puppy we want! Tell me more! So her name is Miss Penny – how big is she? Weight? Is she very smart? Can you train her well? We’re so close to getting a dog and we’ve narrowed down to a Groodle/Golden Doodle.
Dawson’s Creek is really not worth the time if you didn’t watch it the first time around. But just pick Pacey. It’s my answer and I’m sticking to it.

      • Maegen 10 years ago

The pup is SO insanely smart. She is potty trained (rings a bell to go outside and only goes in one area) and picks up tricks like its her job. She really loves to run/play fetch. Our groomer warned us that if we don’t fetch enough with her that she will retrieve things to us anyway, like dirty laundry or shoes, since the breed is hardwired for that game.

At almost 9 months old she’s 55 pounds but doesn’t look it, she is a tall pup. If you want to see pics of her, I’m on Instagram (maegenLL) and will own up to the fact that she owns my feed.

Best thing, she doesn’t shed. Biggest drawback, she gets more haircuts than I do. We take her to a groomer for them since I don’t trust my styling skills.

        Good luck with your decision!!

  41. JessB 10 years ago

I’m not so much a lurker, but I love your blog and I’m happy to answer!

Where are you from? Melbourne, born and raised. I was born in St Vincent’s Private Hospital on Victoria Parade.

    How old are you? 31

What do you do for coin? At the moment, I work in administration at a University, but I’m going to have a career change soon, and put my Information Management degree to work.

    Do you have kids? No.

    Fur babies? No.

Do you prefer coffee or tea? Neither, I’m a hot chocolate fan.

Aniston or Jolie? Not a massive fan of either, but probably Jolie. I think she’s a really smart woman who is very kind and I really admire her charity work.

Red wine or white wine? Again, neither – I like vodka with lemonade and lime.

    Sunrise or sunset? Sunset.

Prince Harry or Prince William? Oh, tricky! I think Harry looks like lots of fun, but he has this air about him that anything could happen. That makes me nervous, and William was the love of my teenage years, so I’ll stick with him. I do love the whole royal family, actually.

    High heels or flats? Flats.

Dawson or Pacey? Pacey, for sure.

Paris or Rome? Gosh, I’ve never been to either! I don’t know. Maybe Paris? I just love French history, and getting to Paris is definitely on my bucket list.

Winter or Summer? I can never decide – I like wearing skirts, tights and boots with my favourite coat in Winter, but I don’t like how cold my house can get. Summer is fun because I get to wear my favourite t-shirts, and I love having showers at night in the dark before I go to bed. After all that, I think I like Summer best.

Congratulations on 1500 posts, Smaggle, that is completely brilliant, and I have loved reading them.

Have I ever sent you goodies before? Just wondering…

      • JessB 10 years ago

I know. I’m super proud of that, because I think Melbourne is the best place in the whole world (caveat: I have not seen the whole world). And I have loved interacting with you in the comments – I really love your blog, and I think you’re super awesome.

And no, I have not had goodies before.

  42. KT 10 years ago

    Hello!

Disqus was being evil when I tried this the other day, so I’m hoping it works this time…

    Where are you from?
Grew up in The Shire south of Sydney, but currently based in the eastern suburbs of Sydney.

    How old are you?
I turn 40 in September (eek!)

What do you do for coin?
Doctor, training to be a Paediatrician

    Do you have kids?
Nope, but I have 2 nephews and 1 niece

    Fur babies?
Nope, but I would love a dog. Alas, I live in a tiny apartment and work hideous hours.

Do you prefer coffee or tea?
I have a cup of Irish Breakfast tea every morning, and various T2 teas at other points during the day (I enjoy their Sleep Tight one).

    Aniston or Jolie?
I’m a big fan of Jen. (And her father, John, aka Victor Kiriakis from DOOL, which got me through uni.)

    Red wine or white wine?
    Yes please.
(I love both, and also love rosé.)

    Sunrise or sunset?
I’m a real night owl, which is not compatible with the fact that I love being up for sunrise.

    Prince Harry or Prince William?
    Wills.

    High heels or flats?
    Flats at work, heels otherwise.

    Dawson or Pacey?
Pacey, of course! (Did anyone actually answer Dawson here?!)

    Paris or Rome?
Paris. One day I want to live there. To work there would require learning medical French, which I’m prepared to do…

    Winter or Summer?
Definitely summer, which makes it ironic that I’m currently seconded to Canberra for May/June/July. Brrrrrrrrrrrrr… Canberra is beautiful in autumn though.

      Smaggle 10 years ago

Oh thank you for perserving! Disqus has been a nightmare recently!
I think one person said Dawson… something about Pacey being a player?
I’m from Canberra! I know live in Melbourne but that’s where I grew up. Autumn is beautiful there!

    Congratulations to this achievement!

Does it cound as lurking to comment anonymous? and not remembering with which name I posted, so possibly chosing a different one each time? I mean my e-mailaddress is always the same, that’s what counts, right? : )

    Where are you from?
(Germany) Berlin, in a neighbourhood hip enough to have plenty of vegan/ecological/handicraft shopping options, but also grimy enough to have a bunch of punks camping under a tree next to the photobooths on my way to the S-Bahn station. Oh, and not to forget the parcel collect station down the street

    : )

    How old are you? 25.

What do you do for coin?

I’m a spoilt student whose parents still pay alimony while I study psychology. I do work with autistic children on the side (mainly playing, which is strangely exhausting!).

    Do you have kids? No.

Fur babies? Dust bunnies. I stopped naming them when I got too attached to them to vacuum and had to set them free on the grass strip in the middle of our street.

Do you prefer coffee or tea? I’m afraid of getting addicted to coffee, so I only drink it with lazy breakfasts, but never when I need it… Written out this seems either brilliant or utter nonsense. So in everyday life (and in my uni thermos flask) tea: Eastern Fresian black tea with cream and rock sugar (the one that makes noises when hot and wet, no pun intended : ), chai, chamomille, sage, fresh mint, green,….

    Aniston or Jolie?
    Can I have Ellen DeGeneres?

Red wine or white wine? Hardly any.

Sunrise or sunset? Since I live on the 4th floor towards the east and didn’t have blinds for the first few months I’ve been forced to see quite a few sunsets. And they are pretty pretty, especially when viewed from the bed without having to lift your head and the perspective of 2 more hours of sleep ahead : )

Prince Harry or Prince William? Neither. One seems uptight and way too much wrapped up in duties, the other is an inconsiderate pubescent with way too much duties looming over his head. If we widened the circle a little bit (England-wide for example), I’d take Stephen Fry or Simon Pegg.

High heels or flats? Flats. Preferably so flat they don’t even have a sole. Love going barefoot!

Dawson or Pacey? Anyone who’s through puberty.

Paris or Rome? Both are nice, both have very good food options, but I’ll have to pick Rome for the prettier language.

Winter or Summer? Seasons! I’d get tired of having the same temperatures year round! I always look forward to bundling up in autumn and then after a few months I just want to get dressed in less than 10 minutes in summer (this does not include time to decide what to wear), because of not having to squeeze into 2 pairs of tights, 2 pairs of socks, undershirt, overshirt, jumper, light scarf for inside, then boots, jacket, gloves, woolen hat and warm woolen scarf for outside.

Oh Germany! Mr Smaggle and I are planning to spend a few months in Berlin working soon! I’ll have to hit you up for awesome Berlin travel advice.
And good call on the puberty situation with Dawson/Pacey. That’s a very season specific response.

I’m procrastinating from studying for my final (ever) university exam, so here we go…

Where are you from? Edinburgh, Scotland

    How old are you? 22

What do you do for coin? I’m a student, soon to be a full-time tour guide (but only for summer, I’ve been doing this shit for far too long.) Then I’m off to do TEFL!

Do you have kids? HAAAA no.

Fur babies? A cat, but she’s at my parents’ house.

Do you prefer coffee or tea? Tea, I’m British.

Aniston or Jolie? Jolie, if only because someone once said I look like her.

Red wine or white wine? Red. (Never rosé. Never, ever rosé.)

Sunrise or sunset? Sunset. Sunrise reminds me of entire nights spent writing essays, general insomnia and sheer panic.

Prince Harry or Prince William? Harry.

High heels or flats? Flats, I live in a city of cobblestones.

    Dawson or Pacey? Who?

Paris or Rome? Rome. Lived in Paris and hated it. Lived in Italy (smaller city in the north) and loved it. Rome wins.

Winter or Summer? Winter when it’s summer and summer when it’s winter.

I’m having a massive delurking today, I’m a fairly new reader, but I’ve been following for a few months…

    Where are you from?

    Toronto (in Canada)

    How old are you?

    41

What do you do for coin?

I’m a web developer – I code websites. And have completely unsolicited opinions about other people’s websites…

    Do you have kids?

    Not yet.

    Fur babies?
    A dog – a mini dachshund

Do you prefer coffee or tea?

Neither? Water, the occasional juice or smoothie.

    Aniston or Jolie?
Aniston. Pitt may have been the one who cheated, but Jolie agreed to it.

    Red wine or white wine?

Neither again… I also don’t drink beer, making me the weirdest possible kind of Canadian ever.

    Sunrise or sunset?
Sunset. Mostly because I’m a night owl and I don’t think I’ve ever been awake for sunrise.

    Prince Harry or Prince William?

Harry. There was a story ages ago about these wedding memorial mugs that was supposed to be Wills and Kate and they put Harry’s pic in place of Wills and I can totally picture Harry having bought hundreds of those mugs and just planting them for Wills to find for many years to come.

    High heels or flats?
Flats or wedges if I must. I tend to fall over when I wear heels.

    Dawson or Pacey?
Pacey. Dawson was just so whiny. Also, Joshua Jackson.

    Paris or Rome?
Paris. I think. really, I think I’d like both.

    Winter or Summer?
Summer. I absolutely hate the cold. But that also puts Spring and Fall into contention. Spring, once all the snow has melted and the ground is finally green and the trees are starting to grow their leaves and flowers back and everything smells so new is the best time of year.

    Sup.

Not sure where I’m from. Everywhere. Nowhere.
    I am 34
    I blog for coin
    2 brats, 2 kittens
Tea, Jolie, red, rise, and Harry.
    Sneakers, Pacey, Paris, and summer.

    Mwah!

  47. Donna 10 years ago

    My name’s Donna.
I’m from the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney. I’m nearly 34 years old, which is scary, because then I’ll be a year away from being 35. I’m a primary school teacher, but I’m currently on maternity leave. I had my twins three months ago at 33 weeks (their names are Ruby and Toby). I have two digs, Puppy and Rocky. I live for coffee but will drink tea if I absolutely have to, I’m an Aniston supporter all the way – I think Jolie stole Brad Pitt and that’s never a nice thing to do to another woman, I like all wine, particularly pink moscato, I’m definitely a sunset person, especially if it’s in Paris. Prince Harry is my favourite, I think it’s because his father is James Hewitt and not Charles. I wear flats. Can I say neither Dawson or Pacey? I didn’t really get into Dawson’s Creek. I’ve been to Paris three times in my life and hope to go again and again. It’s an amazing place. I love Winter for the layering of coats and scarves and gloves.
