Treat Yo Self: Tie Dye and Trinkets

I

t’s Thursday petals and you know what that means. Treat yo self. Every Thursday I pop together a little shopping list of things I’m loving from around the web… let’s be honest. Half the time it’s stuff I’ve already bought from around the web. Enjoy!

Initial Charms $35 from SD Marie Jewelry Β

I’ve never been a massive fan of nameplate necklaces but I thought these little initial pendants were just gorgeous. Perfect gift for a girlfriend’s birthday.

I hate myself for liking these (they’re part of some Kardashian collection and I’m just not a Kardashi-Fan) but I just freaking love them. They come in a nude colour too. Perfect wedding guest shoe. Damn it.

Jacket $129 from Freaks Kim Tae Hoon

I discovered this store through a friend of mine and I love it. They do gorgeous structural pieces that are absolute bargains if you ask me. This cropped jacket would be a terrible colour on me but if you can do beige, you should totally buy it because it’s awesome.

Pillow cases $35 from A Go Go Pillowcases Β

How cute are these? What a great wedding gift for a guest that’s on a budget.

Maxi dress $59 from Katies

I saw this dress on Sonia Styling and I was like ‘Yes. I shall have one of those.‘ So perfect for all the lovely warm weather we’re having in Melbourne at the moment.

Jacket $280 from Son of SorenΒ

This is totally out of my price range but I had to include it. I’m not a big colour wearer but I thought this was divine. Perfect with skinny jeans and boots in winter. I love structural clothing.

Screen Shot 2014-09-29 at 5.44.16 pmLipcote $15 fromΒ Priceline

I’ve just ordered this (along with make up remover pads and cleanser – I do a bigΒ PricelineΒ online shop about once a month) because a friend recommend it to me. She always wears lipstick and it seems to never need topping up and she swears it’s Lipcote. I’ll let you know how it goes.

Doona cover starting at $99 fromΒ Adairs

I’m obsessed with the concept of one day having a guest room and this is what I want it to look like.

Screen Shot 2014-09-29 at 5.38.24 pmDress $250 from The Iconic

Again with the black and white tie dye. I feel like this is going to be a reoccurring theme this summer.

Screen Shot 2014-09-29 at 5.33.12 pmPrimer $53 fromΒ Adore Beauty

If you don’t own PORE-fessional you need to buy some immediately. I use it every single day and it’s like face spackle but not as gross sounding as that. It just a beautiful smoothing primer that keeps your make-up in place all day. I’m on my 4th tube. I’m obsessed. (Oh also have you ever bought anything fromΒ Adore Beauty? They sometimes send Tim Tams with their packages and they have free shipping. Best ever.)

I love Adore. Such great customer service and who can so say no to a Tim Tam?

I know! I feel like they’ve set themselves up forever on that front. I will be really disappointed if one day I don’t get a Tim Tam!

I bought my first primer the other week and I’m pretty sure it does absolutely nothing. Such disappoint! It’s Rimmel Stay Matte…won’t be buying that again.

Yet again this week I spent too much money on dresses. I was bidding on three different dresses on TradeMe, didn’t expect to win them all but totally did. On the plus side, I now have a great, work-appropriate, summer dress for every day of the week?

Trying to track down that Lipcote, does anyone know where to get it in Wellington, NZ?

I SWEAR by primers but you have to buy the right one. Seriously try Pore-fessional. It’s the best!

Bare Minerals is a great make too for primers! πŸ™‚

    That doona cover is fabulous!

It’s so not my usual style but I saw it and I was like… ‘Yep!’.

  4. CC 10 years ago

Love the doona cover too, would be great to wake up in .
Porefressional, I love it, a bit $$$, but I bought the cheaper Garnier version and not worth compromising. The Garnier micelle make up remover is top shelf, however.
Am going to check out lipcote, does it stop lipstick bleeding?
The awesome brekkie thingy I discovered and bought recently is caramelised buckaninis, seriously yum with yoghurt and bananas and blueberries for early morning starts at work.

I totally agree it’s exxy but I don’t splurge on any other products, it’s my one indulgence! πŸ™‚ Where can you buy caramalised buckaninis???

      • Liz @ I Spy Plum Pie 10 years ago

Just going to jump in and say I freakin’ love the Loving Earth caramelised buckinis and near our houses you can buy them at Aunt Maggies orrr that other organic store on Smith St that I forget the name of.

Aunt Maggie’s is SO EXPENSIVE! But I love it. The Smith Street organic store is awesome.

I buy all my Benefit stuff online. Porefessional is about $30 in America. If you spent $125 (keep an eye out for specials as this is often reduced to $100 or $75) international postage is free.
Have a look at the site – everything is sooooooo cheap.

Love the doona cover! I really like clean but colourful designs!

I’m not KKs biggest fan but I can’t deny that I do like some of their stuff and those shoes are gorgeous! I wish my kankles would fit into the ankle strap lol

That’s exactly how I feel. I saw them, saw the name and was REALLY disappointed. I’ll get over it, KK isn’t all that bad, I’m just not a raving fan. πŸ™‚

    • Nadine 10 years ago

Not a fan of KK either but I did just buy a dress.
I grabbed the dress as I wanted to try a belt on with a black dress.
OMG – in love with the dress – great material, great cut …
Just saw Kim wearing it for a magazine shoot – had I seen it on her first I would have not even look twice, I know she likes her shape but it ruins the dress.

  6. Liz @ I Spy Plum Pie 10 years ago

I’m having a crapola week so am tempted to just buy all the things to make me feel better but then y’know, there’s still bills to pay! I think that Katies dress might need to be the exception though, and I do love that doona cover!

There is nothing like retail therapy to get you feeling better! I’m planning on my little but off this arvo… after I submit all my articles today!

Oh my darling mum used to wear lip-cote ! feels like 40 years ago – love how some things come back, or never go out πŸ™‚

Oh wow I didn’t know it had been around that long! My mate uses every day. Apart from her iphone it’s the only thing she doesn’t leave the house without.

  8. You will look absolutely gorgeous in that Katies tie dye maxi – it’s such a winner (and thanks for linking to me!). I’m currently coveting quite a few items from Bohemian Traders: the Corsair cami, grey linen boyfriend trousers and Crescent Coin necklace. Hurry up already, tax return!

Every time you link to it I’m like… yeah I love that dress! May not be long enough for me though. I’m very tall! Need to check out Bohemian traders stuff actually! I love all her things.

  9. Cilla 10 years ago

Snap! I bought the tie dye maxi! Bargasm. My buys/ picks are in my blog from today πŸ˜€

  10. I tried on some KK shoes yesterday and really liked them! If only they had my size-apparently they sold well so they only had one pair left!

  11. Grant Heino 10 years ago

I bought a domain name! And hosting! And the Secret Blogger’s Business course! So my treating myself is actually treating my blog… but in a round-about-way that is totally treating myself, right?

  12. LOVE LOVE LOVE that doona!

Adore beauty is my absolute favourite place to buy cosmetics on the web. I’m obsessed with that site. The fact that I usually get a chocolate in my parcel only makes it more awesome.
I love the Porefessional primer. I’d never been terribly excited about primers until I tried that one. Like you, I use it practically every day now.
