I have also seen him take more than 2 hours to walk to his car from the surf, as he allowed himself to be photographed and talked to all of the locals and tourists. Nice guy.

I met a lot of cricketers when I was a kid (back when their dressing rooms had windows that opened into the crowd at the MCG!) and I sang on the Shaun Micallef show the same night Delta Goodrem did, so I met both of them as well. Have you ever broken a bone? If so what happened? Yes, in third grade I tripped while running backwards (not sure what the aim of this PE session was but I was just following teacher’s orders.) Although my wrist hurt the school nurse decreed me just fine and off I went. Later that evening at dance class I was being quite careful with my arm, it still hurt quite a bit. I made it through the class and during the warm down I must have let my mind wander and during the splits (which quite frankly used to do without thinking at age 8) I went down hard on that wrist and the pain was excruciating. Needless to say Mum and I left emergency with a cast round midnight.
If you were going to audition for The X Factor what would your power song be? I don’t need to pick one. I’d have passed out backstage and someone else would have taken my place.
What’s your spirit animal and why? Got to be a panda. I saw one at San Diego Zoo, chilling and chewing on some bamboo and I just really wanted to join him he looked so serene.
Have you ever met a celebrity and if so, who? Yes, I used to work at the airport and one day a couple came by my store and started asking about language tapes. A second later I said, “You’re Deborra-lee Furness! How cool, it’s so nice to meet you!” And then her husband, Hugh Jackman, laughed and niggled her making some sort of joke about me recognising her and not him, as in he was being lovely. They were both really lovely.

Do you prefer savoury or sweet food? I quit chocolate six months ago. Still miss it, but now that I’ve eliminated it I’m finding myself more attracted to savoury food.
Have you ever broken a bone? If so what happened? Ankle – got my foot stuck in a fence. Thumb – playing netball. Big toe – dropped a bathroom cabinet drawer on my foot (yes, really). Thumb again – netball again (I quit soon thereafter following a posterior cruciate ligament tear). That’s it for broken bones, but there have been plenty of other injuries along the way. Occupational hazard of being a total unco.

Hello Smaggle! It’s Kel Kellie here, Miss Naughty Corner, crocheting blogging chick of really no repute. I live in a suburb of Newcastle but I grew up on a farm in the Hawkesbury Valley. I am currently eating those lollies that look like nipples, but depending on the mood I go both ways.
I have broken bones, yes. Right up until my ankle reconstruction in October last year. I fell down a flight of stairs and severed the tendons and gravelled up the end of the fibula. Nice one, hey. But the best bit was when the client’s child was peeking out through a window and waved at me as I fell.
If I was auditioning for the X Factor, my power song would have to be either Glitter in the Air by Pink, or Little Time Bomb by Billy Bragg. My spirit animal would probably be the dog. I am a dog whisperer. I can calm my manic Kelpie Dingo cross with a fingertips massage and once when my friend’s dog escaped and was clowning around on the road, I said, “Abby it’s time to come home now!” and she ran home. Plus, I was petrified of them when I was a kid, but now I love them, and I think that is a little bit like coming to terms with a superpower in a way.
I’ve met a few people with faces that are readily recognisable. I don’t do celebrity well, though. I decided, when I was at uni, to send my resume to Oprah in the hope that she would be agreeable to my proposition for her to take me on as a (paid) intern. She replied, or one of her staffers replied, in the negatory. Maybe it’s an Aspy thing, but I kind of figure as long as I say and do the “right” things it doesn’t matter who I am talking to.
