9 Awesome Things You Can Get Personalised

9 Awesome Things You Can Get Personalised
Carly Jacobs

o you guys know who Diana Vreeland is? She’s the ex-editor of Vogue and Harper’s Bizarre and she pretty much revolutionised the magazine industry. I’ve read every book that’s ever been written about her and as such I’ve absorbed a few of her obsessions as my own. One of those obsessions is monogramming. There’s something so classic about having your initials embossed on a special possession. In honour of this obsession of mine, I’ve popped together a list of 9 awesome things you can get personalised… all from Etsy of course!

P.S Did you know there’s a Smaggle weekly newsletter? And a Smaggle Facebook page? You should get all up in both their faces. It’s totally worth it, I promise.

My Nonna once stitched my name onto a pillow case… but I don’t really like sleeping with stitching on my face so I don’t often use it.

I had a beautiful pin my Nanny bought me… I’m sure I’ve still got it somewhere. I actually really love nameplate jewellery.

Some awesome gift ideas here Carly! That recipe box is so special!
I have a ‘shannon’ necklace gifted from my uncle in the USA when I was 12 (way before Carrie Bradshaw) and my parents bought me my first car (a Mitsubishi colt) and it had my name monogrammed on the back. Cute then, pretty funny now 🙂

I love the Carrie earrings! I’ve been meaning to get some ‘Carly’ ones made. It’s my one little area of ghetto-fab that I totally love.

I want that rolling pin (with my name on it, of course!) Someone bought us a wooden photo frame in a similar style to the rolling pin for our wedding with our family name on it. Sounds a bit naff but it’s actually pretty cool. Monogrammed phone chargers, whatever next?!

My mum just bought one for my sister-in-law – I can’t wait to see the stuff she makes with it!

I visit my parents a couple of times a year & every time i buy a couple of 3 paccks of bic lighters then engrave rls onto the bottom of each one. I do fifo & live in a camp & there are always arguements over lighters. I nearly always get mine back. I am not the only rs but the l in the middle saves the day.

Oh that’s such a great idea! I always lose lighters. I’m a candle gal but a few of my mates smoke so if they come over without a lighter chances are they’re leaving with one of mine!

  5. I feel like this is something that I want (maybe on a Louis Vuitton Neverfull handbag) but my initials are sadly inelegant – BPR – urgh.

Just go with BR? My initials aren’t great either CAJ so I’d just go with CJ. x

I love the idea of personalised bits and bobs, I have a personalised book owner stamp but now I need a new one with my married name, have my name necklace and a ‘C’ initial that I’ve worn forever which represents my man, but my new initials aren’t the best for monogramming sadly 🙁 EMT/ET (phone home, amiright?)

Oh I love that idea! I wonder if I could get one on Etsy?

I don’t think I have anything that is really personalised. But it’s something I would love to have more of.

I’ve got my eye on a Carly necklace actually!

I love the idea of personalised items – I had my LV bag hot stamped with my initials and it made it even more special for me (it was my 30th present to myself).

  9. I love personalised gifts Carly! I recently bought hubby a bracelet for our third (leather) wedding anniversary and it was leather with a metal circle (infinity) and it had scripted the longitude and latitude of the exact place we stood to say our wedding vows. I am a hopeless romantic!! x

I bought some of the Martha Stewart personalised stationery embossers – problem is we moved house and I got divorced. Nothing stays the same 🙂 time to get some new stuff. Thinking that the Charger wraps are the bomb. Miss 14 keeps leaving hers all over the place
