ello lovely ones. If you need a distraction, it’s your lucky day crumpet face!

It’s that time of year again – time for the (a little bit annual but not really) Smaggle Survey.

I pop these up on the blog every now and then to make sure I’m not totally boring the shit out of everyone. I don’t want to be that person at the party who keeps talking about Harry Potter horcrux theories and everyone else is like ‘Dude. Move on.’ However if people do want to hear more about how I predicted Harry was a horcrux before anyone else did, then who am I to deny you of my genius?

win a $100 easy voucher

So on that note if you would be so kind as to click here and take a wee moment to answer a few questions about yourself that would totally make my day and also make me a better blogger. Help me help you.

Also by entering you go in the draw to win a $100 Etsy gift voucher… also make sure you sign up to the Smaggle newsletter if you haven’t already. That way you won’t miss the winner announcement.

Oh I’m also publishing this post today on purpose because today is a rather special day here in Smaggle land. It was on the 9th September 2007 that I first hit publish on my very first post for Smaggle. It was a really stupid post about Zara opening in Australian with a bunch of predictions that turned out to be totally incorrect. I love how doofus-y my first was. Hilarious.

Just for shits and giggles here are a few snapshots of my blog over the years. Thank you Way Back Machine. You’re like the parent’s photo album of the internet.

Here’s the survey link once more…

So how long have you been reading Smaggle? Since the Blue Wall Browny* days? Or are you a brand newbie?

P.S If I won the Etsy gift voucher I’d totally stock up on crochet patterns.

P.P.S *The Blue Wall Browny days refer to the first two years I was blogging and my office mate was called Browny and she’d take my photo against a blue wall outside our office every day. I’m still great mates with Browny and she’s now shacked up with a lovely guy and just had a baby called Clover. Squee!

P.P.P.S Research has shown that people who subscribe to the Smaggle newsletter and like Smags on Facebook are more likely to win the lottery. That’s probably not true but why take the risk?

Hey Carly! Happy Blogaversary. Eight years. You’ve been a blogger longer than I’ve been a parent and I can hardly remember life before parenthood. I don’t think I’d even heard of blogging eight years ago, you trendsetter you. Survey done. I love a survey. I think it’s the former research student in me. Wow, eight short, barely disconnected sentences there. Obviously not a good writing day for my brain. xx

Thank you for filing it out! I can’t believe it’s been 8 years either and it’s still the same blog! Bizarre! I’m such an old blogging lady…

  2. Love the survey idea! Thought I’d pop a comment here before I pop off to complete ‘said’ survey. Can’t wait to see the outcomes …”and the survey says”…..

*gasp* I am currently for the first time finishing the HP series. Reading them to my 7 year old. We are half way through the last book…. I feel like I just got the worst spoiler… lol… I have tried so hard to avoid spoilers, I won’t go on Pottermore, I avoid any article, I just avoid avoid avoid etc.. And then of all people smaggle spoils it for me.. *sulks*

It’s not really a spoiler. She drops massive hints all the way through… I figured it out the second they explained what a Horcrux was! It just made sense. 🙂

Now that I think about it I’m not even sure that was ever confirmed in the books… it may well have been a theory of mine that was never proven. Do let me know if it’s true! 🙂

  9. Happy Blogaversary (sorry it’s a couple of days late). Newcomer earlier this year, but I’m so glad I found your site and had the pleasure of meeting a few weeks ago 🙂 Will complete survey for you now and I’d also be keen to hear about how you predicted Harry Potter was a horcrux before the books did.

Time is strange. I remember doing this survey the last time, but that – at the same time – doesn’t feel long enough ago to be a year, but also feels so far away. Like I mentioned last year, I started following the blog around the time of the stocking necklace DIY. Going to fill out survey now!

I am trying to rein in my ridiculously long comments, though.
