How To Get Your Shit Together in October

It feels like just yesterday I was putting together September’s goal list and now October is here! It’s nuts. I have to start thinking about Christmas stuff now. Damn it!

So, at the beginning of every month I like to set some goals. Last month I did the following challenges – #20minutesaday of exercise, #cleaneating and I also went #9pmscreenfree. I totally nailed screen free and 20 minutes a day (until I hurt my neck and had to take a few days off). My clean eating was okay but it petered off towards the end of the month when my birthday rolled around. No biggie! I gave them all a red hot go and I’m feeling much fitter than I did at the beginning of September.

Here’s how to get your shit together in October – let me know if you want to join in!

#oneadayoctober

I had a goal in September that I wasn’t going to drink wine until my birthday and I totally stuck to it. I’d have a low-carb beer or two if I was out with mates and it actually worked a treat. I can’t physically fit in more than two beers so it was a great way to keep me from drinking too much. I love wine but my brain doesn’t so it was awesome to have a break from it. For October, I’m going to stick to one drink per day. I don’t usually drink during the week at all but I’ve been known to give it a bit of a nudge on the weekends. Apart from a few pre-booked evenings like a hen’s night and a wedding, any other days will be no-drink or one-drink days in October. It’s a busy and important month for me and I don’t have the time to not be on my game.

#20minutesaday

I adore #20minutesaday so I’m going to do it again. It will be a huge challenge for me because I’m traveling almost every week in October but I’m going to use this month to develop good travelling habits. I’m travelling more and more and I can’t keep losing the plot with my exercise routine whenever I’m out of Melbourne. Keen to join me again this month for 20 minutes a day of exercise?

#everydaygrateful

I started a gratitude journal at the beginning of the year and I let it slide so I want to try take the time to be grateful every day. I’m going to post something I’m truly thankful for every day on instagram with the hashtag #everydaygrateful. A daily mood booster can never hurt right?

What challenges have you set for yourself this month? Are you joining in on this month’s Smaggle challenges?

By the way you should totally sign up for the Smaggle newsletter and like Smags on Facebook. I heard a rumour that Beyonce subscribes to the Smaggle newsletter. I made that rumour up but still…

Love it! I’ve just kicked off a 30 day sit-ups & squats challenge which I am going to give a red hot go on top of attempting regular gym sessions, so we’ll see how that goes!
