Things I Love and Things I Loathe

Things I Love and Things I Loathe

I

used to do these posts years ago and I was feeling all nostalgic for them so I thought I’d bring it back. Plus my commenting system died in the ass last week, preventing everyone (including me!) from commenting, so I’ve really been missing hearing from you guys and what you’ve been up to. Here are some things I love and loathe…

Loving…

– Warmer days and walking to the gym in just a t-shirt laughing with my friend and planning her wedding.
– Keeping up my exercise regime amidst all my crazy travel. Hint: Get an exercise buddy! 6am lake jogs are much more fun with someone who is as bat-shit crazy as you are.
– Hot desking – I’ve been all around Australia in the past few weeks and I’ve been loving using all the hot desks that are available. I work so much more efficiently away from a TV/fridge/bed.
Little Blog Big. We had THE BEST day ever with our Melbourne crew. We just love our events so much. We’re heading to Brisbane next! Squeee!
– Sleeping back in my own bed this week. I’ve been very lucky staying in lots of fancy digs the past few weeks but there really is nothing like sleeping in my own bed.
– Meeting the biggest dog I’ve ever seen today. Seriously this thing was like a bear. His owner said ‘Say hello!’ and licked me from my elbows to my face. It was gross and amazing. Giant dogs are so cool.

Loathing…

– How much taxis cost in Canberra. Bring on Uber I say!
– Not having a free weekend until December. It’s amazing because everything I’m doing is fun and awesome BUT I’m craving a day where I don’t wear pants and I spend the day making love to my couch.

  1. I’m loving that I can finally drive again (combo of post c-section driving ban and my husband’s car getting hit by a kangaroo and getting repaired), cuddles with my little girl and embracing this whole being a mum thing. Also love that I’ll be at the Canberra Little Blog Big workshop!!
Totally loathing when the temperature gets over about 25° and the fact that I’ve finished binge watching another tv show which means I need to find a new show to entertain me during the long days at home (I know, it’s a hard life!!).

Oh wow that would suck not being able to drive in Canberra! Oh my lord you must be so excited! Which one did you finish binge watching? Oh and don’t forget to tell all your friends to come along too!

      • I just finished binge watching Nashville, which I didn’t think would be my kind of show but I was addicted after the first episode. I am so glad I have Netflix!! I’ve watched one episode of Friday Night Lights and I’m not sure if I like it or not but I think I’ll give it another couple of episodes before I make up my mind.
The not driving wasn’t so bad, I did a lot of walking to the shops for coffee!! But I’m glad to be able to drive around and visit friends now.

I loved every minute of Eat Drink Blog, esp your fab presentation. Lady, you are crazy funny! Loving daylight savings. Hating this non-stop cold that’s taken over my nose. Bugger off mean germs.

Oh you are so lovely thank you so much! I had a ball although I literally never need to eat again! Hope you feel better!

  3. I’m loving the warm, sunny weather we’ve been experiencing here in Adelaide recently, spending time with great friends and gin + tonics.
I’m loathing the seemingly never ending cycle of washing. World’s worst chore? Possibly.

Oh totally when you get back from overseas it’s the worst. I was in Canberra for a week and it’s like I went camping for three months. Blergh!

I’m loving: getting back into my early morning walks (just 30mins but such a great way to start my day); salad eating weather; learning the fine art of Sudoku puzzles (never thought I’d be into Sudoku but it’s becoming addictive) and chopping back the very over grown garden (feels quite bad-ass, just me and my secateurs causing havoc). I’m loathing my cat getting older and getting a bit senile (poor kitty); my hair as I try to grow it out and rats in the chicken shed.

How good is morning exercise? I struggle in Melbourne because it’s a real city of the night but I’ve been spending lots if time in Sydney and everyone is up early and being all healthy – it’s great! A perfect way to start the day.

I love that my best friend is coming to join me in Tokyo for 4 days and we’ll have crazy adventures. Not loving the pile of work I have to get done so I can enjoy my adventures guilt-free (but totally worth it).

Oh wow I love stuff like that! I’ve had Tokyo in my bucket list for years – I feel like next year is the year!

Ha! So cute… I’m pretty sure I was the same when I was a kid! 🙂

I am loving the warmer weather…. I am loathing how pale and wan I am looking now that the ‘winter layers’ can come off!

I can’t join you in the love for warmer weather… it stresses me out. I can’t sleep and I have to show lots of skin which I hate. Blergh! 🙂

  8. I’m loving that people have been so friendly in the new town that we have moved to and that it has been a warm, sunny 29 degrees everyday. I’m loathing that the quirky old house we are renovating needs to be totally rewired & also that everybody keeps warning me about how revolting the summer is but loving (again) that I have just discovered an anti-humidity hair product (hope it works). (We are in North Queensland now!).

Oh that is so brilliant! It can be really scary moving to a new place but finding friendly people there would be so comforting. I shall have to look into this anti-humidity hair thing… not for Melbourne but for pretty much everywhere else.
