I

know I’m prone to exaggeration but I’m being dead serious here. I bought a dress almost exactly like this from Muji in New York in 2011 and it’s still going strong. In fact I wore it yesterday. They’ve just re-released it with short sleeves this season. I bought it immediately and I’m thinking about buying 7 of them and never wearing anything else. They also have it in a white/black stripe which I also think I need in my life.

I love t-shirt dresses. They’re so comfortable and you look like you’re wearing an actual proper outfit when really you’re basically wearing a night shirt. The best. I also don’t hate these shoes – I bought them last year and they’re holding up well. If I walk too far in them (like for hours) they give me blisters but they’re perfect for ducking out to a cafe for a meeting or running to the post office. Also pointy toed shoes make me feel like a wizard. I should wear them more often.

This outfit was worn for Crochet Coach strategy, recording the last few episodes of Straight & Curly for the year (can you believe we’ve being doing that for a year now?), slamming through my work and getting ready for my Boss Babes get together in Sydney today. I’m part of a mastermind group of amazing business women including Secret Blogger’s Business, Hair Romance, Sonia Styling and Bombshell Bay Swimwear. This year we’re all getting together to have an end of year business day and a ‘work’ Christmas party. I’m really exited about it. I’m in a very exciting new chapter of business right now and there are some seriously talented ladies in the group. I’m all ready to be a big ol’ sponge and soak up all their brain knowledge. On an unrelated topic – remember how I said MooGoo shampoo is the best shampoo ever? This is my second wash with it and I’m still totally in love. I can’t even tell you how much I love it. It’s made my hair all big and bouncy again. It’s amazing. Consider this a second recommendation. If you have curly hair or scalp issues – this stuff is life changing. Well not life changing… hair changing. Let’s not get too dramatic.

Do own two or more of the exact same item? Or do you own an item you fully intend on buying again?

P.S. The Crochet Coach launch phase is ending really soon – if you’ve been debating whether or not to join – do it now. I have over 100 students now and I’ve got all of them crocheting away and making the most gorgeous things. Come join us – it’s such a lovely place to be.

Super cute look Carly! I like the idea of a t-shirt dress but any time I put one on it just looks meh. (I’m 157cm with a belly and other ‘curvy’ bits.) But I recently found a great alternative at a Rivers outlet which is a cotton t-shirt styled dress but with a structured waist band (stitched band in front and elastic in the back) plus POCKETS! It also sits at the perfect on knee length so I don’t have to hem it. I bought it 2 weeks ago and so far have worn it twice for work (including today) and 3 times for casual wear. It’s a basic black so works with everything else in my wardrobe too. Only downside is they haven’t made it in other colours!

I can pull them off because I have a really long torso – I have short friends they just don’t work on. I bloody love pocket dresses. My favourite.

I recently bought three of the same blazer in different colours. 😉 I do the same with jeans, as soon as I find a pair that fit well, I buy a few!

I just can’t do jeans. I have one pair and I don’t hate them but I don’t really love them either.

I love stripe dresses and shirts! They’re just so cool and chic at the same time. 🙂

I totally agree! Easily the best thing to just grab and wear. I went back to get the other colour but they were all sold out! 🙁

Moogoo has actually changed my life. They sent me some after finding me on Insta about four years ago and I’ve been using it ever since. The body wash is great. And shampoo and hair makes my hair great too. So good for scalp issues.

Excited to hear about your new business ventures.

Isn’t it out of control? I love that you use it – that’s such a great testament to it’s awesomeness. It’s actually changed the way my hair is. Love. it.

An adorable viscose sundress from myer. I own it in patterns and plain, and it’s just great!
I purchased my very first tshirt dress today from a ‘hippy’ store. It just feels so soft and the print is pretty cool (black on white ganesha) so I think I’ll get a lot of wear out of it this summer.
On a side note, your hair is how I’m getting my curly mess cut soon! Do you use much product to keep it cute, or do you just straighten the fringe and go?

I blow dry the fringe straight and keep it kept quite short (the longer it is the curlier it is!) I also sleep with the fringe in a little mini ponytail to stop it flicking up in the night. I do want to get a straightener though to see if that will help with the unruly fringe mornings! The rest of it is just twisted wet, leave in conditioner and leave in styling wax blow dried and barely touched between washers.

Haha ‘just’! I am attempting to go product free and it’s driving me batty! That and long curly hair without product means air drying all damn day for hair that looks good for an hour.
I remember shorter being hella easier.
Also, twisting it when it’s wet? I’m assuming you’re just defining your curls a bit more?
My formative hair years were spent shaving off this mop, so I never learned any decent techniques for ultra thick, curly madness.

I own two New York & Company fit and flare (aka skater) dresses. One is black, and the other is a black and white pattern. I love them. They are very simple, but they have a bit of interesting tucking at the neckline. They are pretty much four-season dresses, which I love.

I love dresses you can wear in season! I’m such a sucker for natural fibres though I can’t handle synthetics.
