A Few Things To Tell You…

A Few Things To Tell You…
Carly Jacobs

I usually write a productivity or health related post on Wednesdays but I realised I had a lot of stuff to tell you guys so I thought I’d do that instead.

It’s actually really hard to get information to people these days. I used to just pop it on the blog and most people would see it but now I have to make sure it’s on all channels so no one misses out. Not that I think my life updates are that important to everyone but I don’t want people to miss out on events or offers they might be interested in. People get mighty grumpy when they think they’ve missed something. I know I do!

1. The Vision In Blue Blanket is Going Gang Busters

I’ve received so many beautiful packages of granny squares from all over the world and I think I’ve definitely got enough to make a big blanket. If you’ve made squares, please still send them through but don’t stress if you haven’t. I’ll take more but I don’t need more so if you’re pressed for time don’t worry – there will definitely be another blanket in the future. This has been way too much fun to not do it again. Make sure you get them in the post by the Friday 1st September 2017 so they arrive in time to be sewn up.

2. I’ve locked in the sew-it-up date

The sew-it-up date is Sunday 10th September and the location will be either be Brunswick or Carlton in Melbourne depending on how many people want to come. If you want to come, please book a free ticket here. Note – don’t book a free ticket if you think you might want to come. I’m trying to figure how many people will actually be there so please only book if you’re sure you can come.

3. Sweet Teen Club Is Back

If you missed Stacey and I rambling on about Sweet Valley High, Winona Ryder and Degrassi High – this is your lucky day because we’re back baby! We had a break because of some changes to our podcast network but we’re back and raring to go. If you’re looking for something light hearted to listen to on your morning commute, there’s hilarious stories about that one time Stacey got shot with a crossbow and there’s an upcoming episode where I talk about almost accidentally posting a photo of me on the toilet to my Instagram stories. #awesome.

4. Crochet Coach is undergoing a re-structure

I’m going to be closing the doors to Crochet Coach this week (not forever so don’t panic!). You have until Friday this week to sign up for the free trial – after Friday, it’s gone! So if you’re keen to give it a go, get on it now. You won’t be able to join for a little while so if you’re keen, get in now.

5. I’m allergic to something and I don’t know what

This is totally off topic but twice in the last 6 months I’ve woken up with a puffy left eye, swollen lips and hives all over my body. FOR NO REASON AT ALL. Last time it happened I was in Canberra, last week I was in my own house in Melbourne. I ate almost identical food leading up to both incidents. I haven’t changed skin products. It’s fucking weird. I went to the Dr and I’m monitoring it but it’s never happened to me before and there doesn’t seem to be an obvious cause. It also makes my skin go kind of sallow and grey. I dead set look like a zombie. #hot. I will keep you posted on my bulldog face.

That’s it from me! What’s up with you? Anything bothering you right now?

P.S Also you should totally sign up for my newsletter. It’s full of cool stuff.
P.P.S Don’t forget Crochet Coach has a free trial offer period at the moment so make sure you sign up!

Hi there! I had the same allergy issues and it ended up being an allergy to all NSAIDs (ibuprofen, aspirin, naproxen). Took forever to figure it out as I kept looking at food/drink/environmental allergies. So it you take any medicines regularly, throw them into the suspect list!

Oh that’s a good one! I take ibuprofen for period pain but I do that almost every month and the allergic reaction doesn’t happen every month but now that you mention it, the reaction happens towards the end of my period. Maybe it’s a build up of ibuprofen? Food for thought!

So weird how allergies can just develop out of nowhere like that, isn’t it?

Might be a stretch, but maybe even dust? My sister is allergic to dust (which I find strange since dust is human skin!). Maybe you’ve been cleaning with something different? Anyways, hope you figure it out.

I thought it could be dust but then I was in 2 different locations when it happened – both pretty clean and dust free. And surely if I was allergic to dust I’d get the reaction more often? Dust is everywhere. It’s so perplexing.

Thanks for the updates! I hope you get to the bottom of your allergy issue soon.
