I sneakily smaggled this gorgeous gal today in Christchurch with her uber cool boyfriend. We hastily snapped the photo while waiting for our Korean takeaway. I feel terrible for not telling her but she was too damn cool not to share. Her hair is yellow and pink. And she has candy bracelets all the way up both arms. She’s like me on acid.

I was invited along by the gorgeous Ninaribena from Canberra’s Got Style. We drank champagne, ate delicious treats and swooned over some of the fashions the Canberra Centre had to offer. 

I particularly loved this backwards blouse and rhinestoned shoes.

To be honest, I was a little disappointed in the men’s fashion. This poor bastard was sent around the circuit FIVE TIMES in the same pink shirt.

Ninaribena and Lady Smaggle. Ninaribina is wearing her gorgeous SJP top and I commissioned her to make me one! I wore it all weekend and I LOVE IT!!!!

This is a gorgeous gal I met called Viktoria, the self proclaimed Imelda Marcos of Canberra. This gorgeous thing owns over 400 pairs of shoes and makes hair pieces and fascinators. Splendid!

It was a totally pleasant morning and such a delightful way to spend the first weekend of spring! Thanks Ninaribena! You made my weekend! Mwah!

Other things I did this weekend…

* Kissed the crap out of Mr Smaggle… he just returned from a two week trip to the USA

* Lazed in the sun eating jelly lollies at a BBQ

* Drank one too many glasses of wine and told almost all of my friends that “I used to hate them but now I love them and isn’t that great???”

* Had Yum Cha to celebrate Baldren Smaggle’s (my brother’s) birthday.

* Watched Dancing with the Stars while colouring in a My Little Pony activity book

* Baked a coffee layer slice

I was flicking through NEET magazine today (it’s an online independent crafty magazine that you should all take a look at) I was thoroughly amazed to find this girl amongst the pages. She is, quite simply, a divine little creature and I started net stalking her immediately. And guess what? This charmer has her own blog called Pony and Pink. She is also a painter, op-shopper (thrifter, for my international readers) and one hell of a stylish lady. 

So do you want to hear the coolest thing about her? She is from Canberra. I just can’t believe there’s this little poppet running around my city looking all stylish and adorable… why I have not found her in real life and Smaggled her?

It was a costume party and the theme was ‘What did you want to be when you grew up?’. For me the costume choice was fairly easy… I went as ‘famous’. It was a sort of Lindsay Posh Katie Hilton kind of look. It’s rather sad but at the age of 12 it appears that my life goal was to appear on the cover of Who magazine. Mr Smaggle went as Richard Branson. We are going to be very happy together…

A Japanese school girl. Cute-ness factor of around 5 billion points.

There were so many delicious costumes. There was an Inspector Gadget, a very convincing Mario from Mario Bros, a priest, a first female Prime Minister of Australia and an alarming number of Trophy Wives – girls all dressed up with name tags that said ‘Mrs Murdoch’ or ‘Mrs Packer’. It was a lovely evening that flew by in a blur of gin and match making shenanigans.

Then yesterday Mr Smaggle, Mr Squiggle and I went shopping for fridges but there is no daily outfit photo because after Saturday night I looked like a total trashbag…

And as one of the ‘university’ cities of the country we have quite a selection of eclectically dressed lassies and lads stalking the streets of the nation’s capital in broad daylight.
