9 Things That Will Make You Do A Little Happy Dance

9 Things That Will Make You Do A Little Happy Dance
Carly Jacobs
I

t’s a lovely list day here at Smaggle. I freaking love writing these little lists. I just love the thought of my readers having a cranky day, reading this list and then doing something lovely like having an afternoon nude nap or reading a trashy novel. To celebrate this glorious day I’ve put together a list of things that will make you do a little happy dance…

1. Have a Dessert Only Dinner Party? Where every guest brings a sweet treat? No entrees or mains? Just cakes and pies?

2. Drink a full litre of water when you first get up in the morning? With a squeeze of lemon? Start your day feeling energised and refreshed?

3. Paint all your nails an inky black? Make just your pinkies snowy white?

4. Take a dance break? Blast your favourite song from the stereo? Dance like a maniac until the song finishes?

5. Keep a roll of pink musk sweets in your handbag? Pop one in your mouth whenever you need a little pick me up?

6. Have a celebrity movie marathon? Kate Winslet? Bruce Willis? Merril Streep?

7. Buy a vintage typewriter? Tap out thank you notes the old fashioned way?

8. Decorate your home with nature inspired trinkets? Bundles of dried twigs bound with string? Seashells? Faux birdsnests?

9. Borrow your wardobe from a man friend? Chunky oversized wool knit jumper? Perfectly baggy boyfriend jeans?

Whay kind of things make you do a little happy dance? Wine? Dancing? Chubby baby thighs?

Are we mates on Facebook? Because we should be.

When was the last time you had one? They’re outstanding! I have a mate who always has a roll of them in her bag – it’s so cute.

  2. Love this…had the kind of day where I need all 9 but would definitely settle for a dessert only dinner party x https://champagneinateacup.wordpress.com/

I have a mate you hosts dessert only dinner parties every year. I think he also has a rule where everything has to contain chocolate. It’s pretty sinful. 🙂

How about a meal of just entrees? I would so be in on that.

Oh yeah good call! Like Tapas? Good alternative for people who don’t like sweet things!

Number 6 makes me laugh. I have accidental celebrity movie marathons all the time! I remember when I used to go to the video store (aww a dying trade) and I’d hire what I thought were a bunch of random movies. I’d then get home and find the one celebrity in ALL of the movies – even if they were just bit parts! So weird haha.

I’m considering doing a Leonardo Dicarprithon and watch all of his movies. I’ve had that in my head for a while now. Might make that one of my goals for 2016.

Dance breaks should definitely be a thing. I’d feel a lot more energised if some kind of cheesy classic came over the PA at work and everyone had to get up for a bit of Health Hustle.

We use to do that at school when I was a teacher and it was a great idea! I don’t know why more companies don’t have Tay Tay blaring out at break times.

  6. What’s making me happy today? I went to the markets and bought a heap of fresh nibbles, seafood and salad ingredients for tonight. Our friend is bringing the wine. And I painted my nails at work. Now that’s what I call a winning Friday!

Oh you absolutely should! I would never buy a full packet (because I really could only eat one!) but other people should definitely buy them and give them to me.

I’ve been sending a bit of snail mail lately. That’s been making me happy dance!

PS. Dessert Only Dinner Parties should totally become a thing.

I’m old-fashioned. Happiness for me is cups of tea and watching TV wrapped in a blanket on the sofa
