How To Feel Better When You’re Feeling A Bit Shit

I’m riding an emotional roller coaster at the moment. Don’t get me wrong – I’m loving life right now. I’m busy doing lots of fun stuff but I’ve also put myself under a lot of pressure and I’m stressing myself out trying to perform well. It’s totally self-inflicted so I have no one to blame but at the moment I’m walking a fine line between hysterical laughter and hysterical tears and there’s no telling which way it will go. It’s not ideal and I assume lots of you are in the same boat at the moment so here’s how to feel better when you’re feeling a bit shit. Very appropriate at this time of year when everyone else seems to be showing up to office parties with handmade bonbons and you’re just stoked that your underwear is clean.

feelbetterwhenfeelingshit

1. Pack crackers and camembert in a backpack, find a green meadow and have a secluded picnic

2. Read a really good horror book

3. Buy new underwear

4. Eat simple food like grainy bread with pumpkin soup

5. Drink strawberry milk

6. Make yourself a big promise and write it down

7. Pick a totem animal and buy a little charm of it and wear it around your neck

8. Light candles for dinner tonight

9. Eat a piece of exquisite chocolate and enjoy every bite

10. Go for an evening swim outdoors

11. Ask someone to brush your hair

Have a beautiful weekend! What are you up to? Anything exciting happening?

How good is it? I got the idea when I was giving blood. I always have a strawberry nippy’s when I give blood because I’m not very good at giving blood and it always cheers me up!

New undies and a good horror book = awesome combo!
Also, tea and a piece of cake. Can’t go wrong.

Hope things start easing up for you a little over the holiday season!

Thank you! My play is done and dusted thank goodness so that will make things a lot easier! I’m taking it quite slow today – I think I’m getting a cold in the middle of summer! Bergh!

I’m not doing too badly but I’m still a bit out of control. Just trying to get everything sorted ASAP so I can actually relax and switch off over the Christmas break!

Oh I know how you feel – hope there is some light at the end of the tunnel for you. Thankfully I have almost reached the end. I have had a massive staff shortage in my business which I thought would be fine – until it wasn’t. Having someone brush your hair is bliss! So is swimming outside or walking along the beach just as the sun sets.

Oh no! Staff shortages are the worst! I’m a heart beat away from hiring someone part time – it just all gets out of control! Things are definitely slowing down which is great!

I never brush my hair (too curly!) but I do frequently brush my mates hair!

  6. I would love a neck massage – that would make me supremely happy right now! x
